In this case, he was the one who initially asked the question. He was showing a timeline of Trump's posts last weekend that stretched across three or four hours that included the Jesus image, and questioned whether he was mentally fit. This is why I was surprised.
He was, but this was at the end of the show so I don't think there was time to do a deep dive into the broader implications of Trump's mental capacity.
I don't normally watch Insiders on ABC, but did catch a bit of it this morning (including @cathywilcox.bsky.social on Talking Pictures) and was surprised to see the panel questioning Trump's mental fitness to be President. No discussion of how that affects US/Aus relations, though.
Pope Leo is everything that Trump wishes he were: fearless, highly respected, credible, intelligent, beloved. And popular.
