Warning diesel prices could hit €4 a litre, as fuel rationing and free public transport ‘may have to be considered’ Diesel prices could hit €4 a litre if there is not a quick resolution to the conflict in the Middle East.

This is obviously worst case scenario planning… but it’s really exposing just how bad Dublin gets hit by volatile fossil fuel prices

Government didn’t fund BusConnects expansions in 2026 & haven’t funded 3 of the Dublin Luas projects… 🤷🤷‍♀️

Extension of Luas Green line to Finglas can proceed after High Court cases resolved Extra 4km of line to run from Cabra to north of Finglas village at expected cost of €600m

JR’s have been cleared for Finglas Luas, there are lots of questions remaining since the lands now won’t be purchased for the project

Also, Government still haven’t funded construction until at least 2029 so it won’t be happening anytime soon

Why is traffic congestion so bad? Did you ever wonder why it seems to take longer and longer to commute by car? There are various reasons. But the growing number of cars on the road is a major factor, writes David Murphy.

Mostly it’s because consecutive Governments haven’t prioritised, nor funded public Transport properly

It’s 20 years since the Green & Red line Luas launched… there’s a million more cars on Irish roads in that time

They’re still underfunding it as well

Dublin Commuter Coalition; calls on Government to prioritise emergency funding In the wake of President Trump’s latest escapade of global chaos, Government are predictably about to cut taxes on fossil fuels amidst the rising cost of living. Rather than ignoring our obligations…

Government must prioritise sustainable transport in any emergency relief funding

The solution to the rising cost of oil will never be tax reduction. It’s better cycling infrastructure, more frequent & reliable public transport and Work from Home measures

Dublin city facing decade of disruption from construction of big – and long-awaited – transport projects Work on two bus corridors – Liffey Valley to the city centre, and Ballymun and Finglas to the city centre – is due to kick off this year. And that’s just the start.

A decades worth of disruption is on the way which will exasperate the ongoing congestion issues. The passenger cap removal won’t help either

This is what happens when you continuously delay vital public transport projects
