Not every task I do needs AI, sometimes it's a really bad idea. However, getting it to write tests that would take me a day to do, just busywork, certainly a time saver.
Unpopular opinion: "AI" has a use cae in software dev. Before you lynch me, I still dont think it's right to boil the ocean to do it. Also, LLMs in the creative world steal to train.
The big difference for me is that open source exists. As a profession we actively encourage reuse of our code.
