The victory of the opposition in Hungary yesterday, like the Polish election in 2023, is a victory for democracy, not just in Europe but around the world.
Why is that not obvious to everybody? It boggles the mind.
teachers should assign novels and poems in public schools
AP should not count for college credit and we should have way better high school.
Oh.
So they want Obama’s nuclear deal minus Obama’s signature.
Got it.
Fox News is Poison
Both need younger and more visionary leadership
I love our country and Israel, but not their leaders.
Really? He acts just like one all the time
That Netanyahu convinced him to take.
I'm not saying the US is a puppet but Netanyahu has been working to get the US involved for years and he made an especially aggressive push with Trump.
That's true. I agree.
The Iran debacle has obscured it some, but Republicans are shuffling deck chairs and tweaking rhetoric in an effort to placate voters alarmed by the antivax and anti-immigrant administration. You’ll be shocked to learn all deception. www.offmessage.net/p/donald-tru...
I think the answer to that one is that Putin already has the inside track.
Because he is in love witn Putin, whi is the greatest beneficiary of the Iran War. Trump is influenced by Strong Men leaders and Zelensky doesn't fit in that category.
I do believe the war will make the world more dangerous for Jews worldwide because Israel is known as the Jewish state. I believe it will mestasisize existing antisemitism.
Ok, I thought the question is whether Israel pushed the US into war. And my answer was yes.
How many trips did Netanyahu take to tbe White House? And how close were they to the actual bombing. Trump is pretty easily influenced.
I completely agree. Israel is not the reason we went into Iraq either time. But the evidence is strong that Israel played the lead role in this one, with an assist from Saudia Arabia and Jared Kushner. To argue that saying this is antisemitism is to ignore our eyes and ears.
Mayor Mamdani and a child play with Legos while looking very serious and concentrated. The child is impossibly adorable and wearing tiny blue glasses.
No interruptions, please. We’re building universal child care.
So Russia is helping Iran target American troops. Ukraine is offering drone defense.

Kelly: "You could pick a random group of people off the street tonight here in DC and they could probably do a better job than our government is doing right now. They don't have a goal, there's no strategic plan. And what this is likely to lead to is, again, a long war with a lot of dead Americans."
I don't think "affair" is the really right term when he was texting a congressional aide explicit messages and she wrote back "this is going too far, boss"
The video of a United States Senator joining the violent removal of U.S. marine from a hearing and hideously breaking his arm in a door is an example of what has been unleashed in this country. They’re tapping in to get in on the violence.
And then he bragged about it on X later.
It's also worth noting that the primary driver of Trump's tanking numbers is the deep unpopularity of two central pillars of right wing populism, tariffs and immigration restrictionism. The story we were told about 2024 was that it revealed a durable right wing populist turn. It's not materializing.
As we dig into this scandal, can we revisit the question about why the president's son-in-law, who has no formal role in this administration, keeps showing up at high-level negotiations with actual world leaders?
Today, the Trump administration repealed the endangerment finding: the ruling that served as the basis for limits on tailpipe emissions and power plant rules. Without it, we’ll be less safe, less healthy and less able to fight climate change—all so the fossil fuel industry can make even more money.
Universities often break their own enrollment records. But some wealthy ones do it by quietly pushing low-income families into crushing debt.

If you ever want to feel like you live in “the ruins of a once great civilization,” then read a local daily paper from the middle of last century — our predecessors had more and better knowledge of their neighbors, their societies, and their local democracies than we do about our own.
