i am grateful to know myself so deeply that any question is just a door to another room inside. the labyrinth of my being is the map of puppet and i could never get lost. every tendril of puppet extends from me! weird to think i have been so reluctant to call myself an artist before 2025 lol

what i’m trying to say: i am proud of myself for always doing what i want & remaining true to my heart & my dreams. it would be easy to succumb to the pressures of capitalism as an artist, some of us need to so we can simply survive. i am grateful i am able to choose a path that isn’t just survival.

i am not a machine and i do not produce goods like a machine. my two hands are slow and aging. it can be frustrating having people constantly inquiring about restocks, but i understand it’s all excitement. even if it makes me feel like i’m constantly behind and bad at my job.

capitalism erodes creativity. the capitalist believes that success for a business can only be achieved through infinite scaling of production and perpetual exploitation of labor. the capitalist is impatient, uncaring, and sloppy. how does one achieve satisfaction if the goal is constantly moving?

this movie night is my first attempt at breaking that cycle and forging a new path. what if, instead of waiting for spaces and events to take on more covid safety measures, i did it myself? what if i created the safer scent experience i keep telling people i wish existed?

i spoke about this in my newsletter but i have been challenging myself to expand puppet’s world beyond perfume creation because it felt like i was (and still am) in a constant loop of restocking and scaling. an exhausting cycle that leaves little time or energy for other explorations.
