I’m open to cheering for the Montreal Canadiens this year, as long as nobody expects me to be able to pronounce “Xhekaj” correctly.

Ooohhh. Good call on the offside, but man. How is that a penalty shot when OTT didn’t get one earlier?
Ullmark saves the day anyhow, but let’s have some consistency.
POV photo of hockey on my TV with a bowl of popcorn in my lap and a can of beer in my hand.
I moved back to Canada last summer, so I missed the NHL playoffs for three years.
Watching OTT–CAR Game 2 tonight with a big bowl of popcorn and a Brewhouse Pilsner.
Nothing beats playoff hockey.

Brain won’t let go of the idea of posting a couple of my short stories on Wattpad now that they’re nearly done.

Something’s bruin.
Yesterday I liked a photo of an impressive looking mountain not far from where I live.
Today my feed is about 25% photos of random mountains I’ll never see from random places I’ll never go.

Love Castle Mountain. ❤️
I look forward to seeing it every time I drive to BC.
I ran for the first time in about 5 years yesterday. Only 3k, but it’s a start and I don’t feel too bad today.
Now to keep it going.

It’s awesome when I see someone post a link to a song that I loved as a teen.
I’m less thrilled about the “released on this date 44 years ago” part.

My son ran his third #marathon today, the Marathon de Paris in a PB 3:29.

I just booked a time to swap my winter tires next week, so be aware that we should expect another snowstorm about a week after that.
Explaining to my kids how in the corner of Canada where I grew up, there were only 3 TV channels:
CTV, the CBC in my town, and the CBC in a town 2 hours away (which was exactly the same as the CBC in my town), & which one you watched depended on weather conditions.
I don’t think they believe me.
A photograph of some medieval half-timber houses in Le Mans, France
A photograph of the remaining Roman walls in Le Mans, France
One year ago yesterday we visited Le Mans on one of our day trips to get a feel for some French cities outside Paris.
Plenty of #history there with #medieval era half-timber houses in the Cité Plantagenêt & sections of still-standing Roman walls.

I couldn’t find anything interesting on any streaming platforms, but lucky for me, there’s a new episode of “Story Time With Ken” on BlueSky.
Just so we’re clear, the number of m’s in “hmmm” drastically changes its meaning.
I used to fill up my SUV for $30.
Yesterday it cost me over $50 to top up a half-full hybrid.
Next one’s gonna be an EV.
Nothing makes me reach for the mute button faster than that DoorDash commercial.
A screenshot of a social media post by the Alberta RCMP that says “REMINDER: 911 is ONLY for emergencies. Last night, #rcmpalberta received a 911 call from a man asking where the Oilers could get a starting goalie. We understand that in Canada, this could be an emergency to some, however this is not a valid reason to dial 911.”
I mean… I’m not a Coilers fan but I get where they’re coming from.
If you see this, post a character from space.
I posted this a month ago.
I wish I could say I was surprised but I’m not.
An hour into my morning and I’ve already hit my outrage/doomscroll limit for the day.
I’m going to go read about the Wars of the Roses and then play some #CitiesSkylines.
Feel free to tag along.

Hmmmm… I will post a photo of a sammich tomorrow and report back.
I also went thru the list and picked 4 favourites.
I’m a sci-fi & history nerd, but 2 / 4 were non-fiction memoirs, a genre that wasn’t even on my radar when I started the whole exercise.
So maybe i should take your advice & try reading more genres. What else am I missing?
I created a Storygraph account this weekend & added the books I’ve read since the start of 2024.
There were 73 of them. And when I see them all listed like that in black and white, I think I should probably pick a genre or 2. I didn’t realize I was all over the map like that.
