Love that video (and the eel one)! Had to go watch it for the 1000X time.

Super cool story!
Super job leading this study!
Thrilled to share our latest study, led by @reikatei.bsky.social, in @natchembio.nature.com! We began by asking a simple question—how do cells know if they have too much of a lipid in a particular membrane, and how do they respond to rectify this imbalance?

🚨My department is hiring a full-time Assistant Teaching Professor to teach undergrad Genetics & Genomics, upper-level Genomics, and an inquiry-based Computational Genomics course where students can do authentic research. 🧬💻
I’m on the search committee. DM me if you’re interested. Please share! 🙏
A major output of the 4D Nucleome project appeared today. This is the joint effort of many scientists working together and (publicly) sharing data and results for several years. We hope this is of interest to many genome biologists!

Awesome to work with millerlab.bsky.social on this story and special thanks to dpromislow.bsky.social and the seed grant from the UW Nathan Shock Center that got us started!
Great collaboration with bsky.app/profile/mill...!
Congrats! Looks like a super paper.
🚨 Job alert! The Antebi Department is looking for a Master's student in computational biology (m/f/d)! Apply now!

We've been using Novogene. Good data and quick turnaround for regular worm RNA seq, but the low input takes a while. I am also curious about BioState AI, they may be faster for low input. Has any one tried them for C. elegans or low input samples?

We are excited people are using the tool and it would be super to get feedback from the community!!

Current planned updates:
-new gene annotations based on published work
-option for custom background list
-options for false discovery rate calculations
-making it more intuitive to do batch runs
-cleaning up the SGV files and output directory structures, adding unique names for each file.
1/n Fellow C elegans enthusiasts!
For those of you using WormCat for RNA seq pathway analysis, we are working on the 3.0 version. Comments on annotations/website welcome. Either PM here or let's talk at the Worm meeting in Davis. #Worm25 #celegans
Awesome opportunity -- both project and lab!
The first year the worm meeting was in LA, I dragged the rest of the lab to the tar pits! Super cool spot.
This meeting covers biochemistry, mol biology and physiological impacts of lipid biology. It is also very friendly to model organism people: lots of yeast, 🪱s, 🪰s! Tony Futerman (Weizmann) and Meng Wang (Janelia) are the keynote speakers. Great interactions are the norm and hope to see you there!
Hi Everyone! I would like to put a plug in for those of you interested in lipid metabolism for this Gordon Conference:

In the past two days, all hiring and discretionary spending on my campus has been frozen. Layoffs / furloughs expected soon. The entire incoming first year Ph.D. student class had their offers rescinded. Public medical schools are especially vulnerable to these wanton attacks on science.

Wonderful OpEd piece from @sean-ryder-music.bsky.social!
@steeltownworms.bsky.social posted problems earlier. OK here at UMASS.
Super to see this! Can't wait wade into the data.
Awesome to collaborate with @millerlab.bsky.social!
Wow, thanks Leslie!
