Over the last 128 years, only four Phillies teams have had a lower batting average through 22 games than the 2026 Phillies (.220). It's their lowest mark through 22 games since 1970.

Phillies’ frustration mounts after hellish homestand, worst 21-game start since 2000 (Gift Article) The 8-13 start will heighten the scrutiny on everyone — the players, the coaches, the manager, the front office. The cracks are everywhere.

It looks different and it sounds different at Citizens Bank Park. The Phillies’ lineup has been humbled in the first 21 games. How they respond will define the rest of this thing: www.nytimes.com/athletic/721...

Zack Wheeler threw 77 pitches in four innings at Double-A Reading today. His velocity was down, mostly in the low 90s. Wheeler will come with the Phillies to Chicago, and it will be surprising if he does not make his season debut next weekend in Atlanta.

Philadelphia Phillies’ Felix Reyes homers in debut, but roster shake-up not enough in loss Even with Reyes' home run, the Phillies' offense continued to be cold as Philadelphia fell to 2-6 on its homestand.

Felix Reyes’ second inning homer looked just like the “shot of energy” Rob Thomson hoped he would provide. Then the Phillies’ offense managed three hits through the following seven innings, losing 3-1 to the Braves and falling to 8-12 in 2026.

Battered again, the Phillies hit only a new low — and Taijuan Walker’s spot looks tenuous The Phillies have lost five of their first 19 games by six runs or more for the first time since 1986. Walker might be collateral damage.

The Phillies have lost the benefit of the doubt. They've been reduced to background noise in April. If there's urgency, Taijuan Walker might be collateral damage for an entire team's struggles: www.nytimes.com/athletic/720...

Vince Velasquez is still going, 10 years after ‘forgotten’ 16-strikeout game with Phillies (Gift Article) Now pitching for the Triple-A Iowa Cubs, Velasquez reflected on the game of his life — and the disappointment of the career that followed.

Ten years ago today, Vince Velasquez pitched one of the most dominant games in Phillies history. It’s largely been forgotten. And Velasquez is still pitching … in Iowa.

“I love the game. I just wish I could’ve done more.”
