I just wrote a @theactionnetwork.bsky.social letter: Ask Seattle City Council for more housing near transit, parks, and trails!. Write one here: actionnetwork.org/letters/ask-...

Maybe there needs to be a movement to be proud to pay taxes. Every April 15th, people should look up what taxes pay for and claim something they’re especially happy with supporting. Perhaps some unknown thing taxes fund. If I made this kind of money I would be proud to contribute more to the state.
WATCH: This is my favourite thing on the internet right now. Well done Norway! youtube.com/watch?v=T4Up...
Why didn’t they go for 2 earlier, though? Would have been 3 (if they made it) and an easy FG this time.
Maybe people should be required to play trustandsafety.fun before joining social media so that they understand how difficult this is 🙂
Love it! The limitation is that you would need an open weight model, right? Newer APIs don’t seem to provide logprobs anymore ☹️
Has anyone ever proposed to lid Aurora Ave / 99?
I have heard of @lidi5.org but this seems like another place where it’s splitting neighborhoods in half.
Was this recorded by any chance?
People, you need to listen to this. So many points people need to be aware of… Spent half the time nodding and the other half 😱
And follow @itsafronomics.bsky.social
Honestly, let’s make it a point of pride. I have zero problems celebrating people for paying taxes. Let’s have billionaires post about their taxes on April 15 and compare who paid most. Let’s celebrate the top tax payer.
One day someone will start making “dumb” appliances again. They’ll just work for 50 years as before. Will be a huge hit. I really really don’t need a screen on my fridge that inevitably ends up showing me ads or the thing tracks my consumption.
I’ll be at PyData Seattle talking about AI red teaming with PyRIT. Looking forward to chatting about everything Python and/or AI safety & security!
Thanks for having us @mkennedy.codes! Interested in AI red teaming? Head on over to aka.ms/pyrit and join our Discord community.
Also, lots for me to catch up on 🤣
TFW you experience a city and can’t stop thinking about how your city can adopt a great pattern… eventually you reach the conclusion that you can’t possibly be the first person to have this thought and hooray I’m right!

@typewriteralley.bsky.social nice work!
I’m getting as many people as possible to watch Grown Up Dad on YouTube. It’s quietly powerful and deeply thought-provoking. If you think fatherhood doesn’t need rethinking, this might change your mind. #GrownUpDad #Fatherhood
FWIW where I’m from we have tons of actual obstacles that have been put there by whoever designed the road. I’ve seen them on some streets in Seattle but not nearly enough. It completely changes the mindset from “I’m driving here” to “This is a neighborhood and my car is just about tolerated here”
Ah, my bad I thought it was just two bike lanes. That is easily sufficient!
In fairness, the places where I’ve seen this have lots of driveways on that street so at least those cars need to somehow get to their driveways? You might say “why are cars?” 🤣 but at the end of the day these driveways and cars exist so taking them away will make a lot of people angry.
Everyone who just joined and is looking for Python people to connect with, I made a "starter pack" with many of the fun accounts. Add them to your followers list, #python:

What an amazing game! Some really tough decisions with humbling outcomes…
Semantic Scholar is better anyway?
Hey friends! I did a TEDx talk and it's now up on the TED Conferences YouTube. It's possibly the best and most important talk I've ever done.
I would ask that you watch it, and please SHARE it broadly and widely. Thank you! youtu.be/dVG8W-0p6vg #AI #Tech #TED

It’s so frustrating that there is this illusion that we are all 49%/49% right now. Us versus them, good versus bad, and it’s all because of the BS that is the electoral system. It’s very likely 70% versus 30% and we’re just not seeing representative government. There’s just no common sense right now
All I see here is top notch ball security, elite contact balance, a willingness to grind out tough yards btwn the tackles, and surprising burst after he finds daylight
Alright, people, let's be honest: GenAI systems are everywhere, and figuring out whether they're any good is a total mess. Should we use them? Where? How? Do they need a total overhaul?

New from me @gabrielgeiger.bsky.social + Justin-Casimir Braun:
Amsterdam believed that it could build a #predictiveAI for welfare fraud that would ALSO be fair, unbiased, & a positive case study for #ResponsibleAI. It didn't work.

That said, it becomes very emotional with people being forced into one mode (RTO) instead of providing flexibility. That makes every argument a threat to one’s way of life. So I definitely get the emotions. I don’t get the emotions of the RTO crowd trying to force others back into the office.
All this is to say… I don’t agree with all of it, but there’s probably a good chunk of overlap. I appreciate you sharing this perspective because it’s sad when a conversation can’t happen at all.
