I'm mainly criticizing this line in the original post, where they claim (whether Laika directly claimed it first or not) that he's a "first gay character". It's the statement itself, and these guys spreading it.

Artists, please don't undersell your work, especially when working with big clients.
It not only devalues your own work, but it sets a precedent that will affect the other artists that the client will hire after you.
If you're unsure, please speak with your colleagues, mutuals or do some research. 🙏

This is nice, but I feel like it defeats the purpose. I follow artists that I want updates from when they open their comms or put up new listings. If I turn off the updates, sure I won't get spammed anymore, but I will also completely forget they exist.

Hey, artists on VGen, if you're opening & closing the same commissions every day or even multiple times a day to spam my notifications, I'm not going to continue following you or considering your services. There is no reason to alert me every 6 hours that your comms are open.

Thankfully, we can turn the emails off, but you'd have to turn off the email notifications for all of the artists you follow, not just that one 😅

There's this one artist I follow who opens the same exact comm service once or twice a day and it has been going on for almost a month now. 😭

Tis the season (spring)! Greyscale sketch of Zarina and Nettie in lewd bunny suits. Zarina stands on the left with her body turned slightly to the side. She is wearing a reverse bunny suit, which covers her arms and legs, but reveals her chest and stomach, with diamond-shaped pasties covering her nipples. Her arms are behind her back adjusting the fake rabbit tail on the back of her suit. She also wears black heels, and her signature large gold hoop earrings. Zarina's expression is a bit downturned, as if she was put up to this by Nettie. On the right side, Nettie kneels excitedly, with her arms outstretched as if presenting Zarina to an audience, or showing her off. She wears the typical bunny suit which has a shoulder cover with sleeves down the arms, and a tight body suit that only covers her small boobs and firm stomach. She also wears heeled boots that stop just below the knees. The top of her boots and the ends of her sleeves are cuffed in fur. There are also small bowties on each side of the body suit at the hips, a single small bowtie on the neck, and a large bowtie holding her very long hair into a ponytail behind her. She has also drawn fake cat nose and whiskers on herself, despite this not making sense for a rabbit costume. She simply thinks its cute and does not care about accuracy.

The point of being hyper-specific to make it seem like a novel & new idea is so that they can perpetuate this notion that the LGBTQ itself is a new phenomenon, a recent issue, or worse, a trend. Every time you suggest one of these characters is the "first" you're harming the LGBTQ community.
