Ok did anyone else have an obscure PS2 game they played a LOT of, but no one else had ever heard of?
I'll go first.. Garfield (2004) You use a vacuum cleaner to suck up objects and put them back in their place in the house.

If you're a game dev, writer, or anyone who makes imaginary worlds, what are some of your favourite exercises to help make your worlds richer?
And most importantly: How does this impact the world now and the characters who live here?
It's one of my favourite exercises to do, and it gives me such a solid base for my game's world. (3/3)
In Fractured Library, I've mapped out every part of the world down to the tiniest details, like who lived here? Why did they decide to settle this area? What did they build from? Where did they go, or are they still here? (2/3)
A little look behind the scenes today:
Building a fantasy world needs a LOT of thought and a lot of research. The things that the players might never see or know, but help the world stay consistent and whole. For example: (1/3)

Why we re-made our first game 12 months after its initial release:

(Among other things, people wanted to get handsy with their surroundings, and who are we to deny them?)

Ok, but how cute is Kayak standing on her little bridge?!
Fractured Library's new and improved assets are being put to good use, mapping out the narrative in a very aesthetically pleasing and ADORABLE way.
Loving putting together these mini worlds right now.

Crash land, get snarky, and try not to die! Noah might be a magnet for disaster but he's certainly going to be humorous about it!

Memento!!!!!!!
You lovely human, this is soooo cool to see 🥹
Thank you so much for giving our games a go, we can't wait for you to get to play a finished product!!
Thank you for being a wonderful community, honestly.
If this sounds like something you could weigh in on, pop into dev discussions and show some love to our friends starting their new endeavours. discord.gg/njdnY7tMtV
I've been so overwhelmed with how intelligent and driven our community is, but most importantly, how kind they've been to each other, sharing advice and listening without the ego that can often take over in these spaces.
We've been chatting in the Raguthra Discord about what it looks like to start game dev, being disillusioned with the traditional day job, and everything that comes with it in various life stages.

Do you guys have a favourite type of puzzle clue? No reason, just asking... Is it something hidden in the environment, something in dialogue, a note you find, or a visual pattern you eventually realise matters?

You'll notice we haven't done an April Fool's day post.
This is because we are fools every day, and dedicating one day to it just doesn't seem right. Gotta keep you all on your toes, you know.

Tiny studio update: one of us is deep in engine foundations, one of us is making portraits and adjusting NPC sprites, and both of us are tired. #indiedev #gamedev
Working on NPC sprites this week and once again being reminded that pixel art is about 40% skill and 60% moving one pixel back and forth until it stops annoying you.

Wow we’ve never had an original experience in our lives 😭
We just wanna share something we’re proud of and say thanks to everyone who gave us a chance early on.

One of the best things about being an indie game company is no one forces us to milk every dollar from our IP.
We’re releasing a re-built, re-worked, re-cursed version of our first ever game and anyone who has already bought it, or buys it pre-update gets the new one for free.
Quick question, has anyone else ever tried to help an old lady out only to get bitten by a werewolf and then forced to go on an adventure to get un-cursed before it's too late? Or... is that just us?
(The Curse of the Howling woods update is coming soon and we are excited about it)

Currently lost in the pages of a looong brain dump of the Fractured Library lore I've been holding in my head. There's a 10% chance anyone will read this ever, but it's 100% helpful in my process. And at least it's here for reference, haha.

We've had MORE than our fair share of power surges on our street lately, and since Lee habitually works until 3am and then stumbles off to bed, these power outages have lost us more work than we would like...
Any recommendations for power backups for PCs?

Isn’t it the best! I am so happy I found it.
So to Yvonne and Paula (and Soozi Q!)
Thank you for making such a wonderful place on the internet. When the world feels dire, it's places like this that we need to flock to.

I was fortunate to find a corner of the internet that reminded me of the good in people, in community and in sharing what you love.
