His legacy will endure as a beacon for elephant protection.

From his early work in 1965—flying small aircrafts to document their migratory patterns—to the founding of #SavetheElephants in 1993, he remained a guiding force and a defining figure in the elephant conservation movement. Our condolences go out to all who knew and worked alongside him.

World Elephant Day mourns the loss of Sir Iain Douglas-Hamilton, a pioneer whose work changed the course of elephant conservation. Throughout his life, he dedicated himself to the preservation and protection of elephants.

Let us honour her memory by taking up her torch and continuing the work of protecting animals and their ecosystems; safeguarding them for future generations.

We are deeply saddened by the news that Jane Goodall has passed. She was a pioneer in wildlife conservation and led an astonishing life dedicated to the protection of our natural places and creatures.

#Matriarch elephants play a crucial role, guiding their families safely across water!

They pass on knowledge, just like they do with feeding grounds, migration paths, and survival strategies.
But as climate change and habitat destruction accelerate, even the waters elephants rely on are at risk.

Swimming is more than a fun activity for elephants. It helps them:
– Cool off in the heat
– Migrate across landscapes
– Bond and teach young calves

🌊🐘 Did you know elephants are powerful, natural swimmers?
They can float for hours, cross rivers and even oceans — and use their trunks as snorkels while fully submerged.

Elephants have been recorded swimming up to 48 kilometers (30 miles) at a stretch!
