Young delivers a pretty solid issue. The star of the show is Corona. This comic has page after page of over the top insanity. The character designs are wild. The fight between Lobo and Aquaman is absolutely brutal. I’ve never seen Aquaman look so unhinged. This issue was so much fun!

Williamson gives us a mostly silent issue. Tom Reilly’s storytelling skills are on full display. Despite no dialogue or captions to help guide the reader, there is never any confusion as to what is going on. Even if you aren’t reading this series, you should pick this issue up. You won’t regret it.

Venditti has come up with a fantastic idea for a story. What impressed me most, is how likable Father Roy is. Hairsine’s art is awesome. Every character has their own distinct look. This is a really good 1st issue. It’s got a fun premise that is executed really well by the entire creative team.

Kirkman is able to weave in and out of all the subplots with ease. De Felici’s storytelling continues to impress. When you pair a great artist like De Felici up with a great writer like Kirkman, the end result is a series that keeps the reader always wanting more. That’s exactly what Void Rivals is.

This issue is part 11 of X-Cutioner’s Song (the penultimate issue). Nicieza’s story moves along at a good pace. Kubert gives us some really fun action. This was a solid issue. It provides a much more satisfying reading experience as a standalone issue than the previous one.

Kirkman gives us some great insight into Megatron’s character in this issue. Lullabi brings Megatron’s trials to life beautifully. His style is perfect for a story like this. Every page is full of wild energy. This was another fantastic issue!

Star Wars Shadow of Maul 2 Marvel Comics 2026
Writer Benjamin Percy
Art Madibek Musabekov
Color Luis Guerrero

Editor Mark Paniccia

Percy is taking an interesting approach, spending the first 2 issues setting up the people and business dealings on Janix, leaving Maul largely in the background. I’m a big fan of Musabekov, and he does a fantastic job in this issue. I recommend this series. You should track the first 2 issues down.
Big Edsel Band 1 Ace Comics 1987
Story & Art Frank McLaughlin
Assistant Win Mortimer
Letters Wayne Truman
Editor Ron Frantz

Written and drawn by McLaughlin, with help from Mortimer, this comic was a joy to read. The characters all have distinct personalities and their interactions are hilarious and organic. The art is wonderfully cartoony. Comics like this is why digging is so much fun. You never know what you’ll find.
Shadowhawk II 2 Image Comics 1993
Creator, Writer, Pencils Jim Valentino

Valentino actually gives us a lot of story in this issue. In just a few panels, we understand why Hawk’s Shadow is a racist. Valentino and Wolf provide very impressive visuals. The fight scene is dynamic and brutal. You feel Shadowhawk’s rage in his punches. I really enjoyed this issue.
Absolutely!!
Savage Sword of Conan 13 Titan Comics 2026

Editor Chris Butera
#comicbookreviews #titancomics #savageswordofconan #swordandsorcery #supportyourlocalcomicshop
In the Conan story, de la Torre provides the plot and art, with Thomas writing the dialogue. de la Torre’s art is wonderful. The Solomon Kane story is written really well by Duenas. Castillo’s art and storytelling take center stage, and both are quite good. I recommend giving this comic a shot.
This week’s Pull List Pick Ups. I had a light week, so picked up the first 2 issues of Ordained. I’m super excited to read all of these. What comic were you looking forward to most this week?

There are a lot of storylines happening at once. While Kirkman has been navigating this quite well so far, I do worry that it’ll get to be too much. In this issue De Felici gets to draw a small space battle, and it’s so awesome I wish it was a longer sequence. You should be reading this series!
X-Men 15 Marvel Comics 1992
Writer Fabian Nicieza
Pencils Andy Kubert
Inks Mark Pennington
Letters Chris Eliopoulos
Color Joe Rosas
Editor Bob Harras
#comicbookreviews #marvelcomics #xmen #90scomics #supportyourlocalcomicshop
It feels like Nicieza was trying to hard to be witty, instead of just letting the action speak for itself. Kubert does a really good job bringing that to life. Overall, this isn’t a bad issue. As a single issue reading experience, it isn’t satisfying. As a part of the larger story, it definitely is.
Royals 1 Image Comics 2026
Story Derek Kirk Kim

Paul and Castor are instantly likable characters, thanks to Kim’s well written, realistic dialogue. Perez’s art is incredibly impressive. He has a really strong sense of storytelling, and there are no wasted panels. The facial expressions are all varied and cartoony. This comic is so much fun!
