Both DC and Marvel have been hyping this issue up for a while now, and for good reason. I was excited. After reading it, I’m a bit let down. It was really good, not great. It didn’t blow me away in the way I was hoping. However, I do recommend picking it up, because it is a very fun comic.
Void Rivals 12 Skybound 2024
Writer Robert Kirkman
Art Lorenzo De Felici
Color Patricio Delpeche
Letters Rus Wooton
Editor Ben Abernathy
#comicbookreviews #skybound #voidrivals #energonuniverse #supportyourlocalcomicshop
Kirkman not only paces each individual issue well, he also understands how to pace the overall story. De Felici once again does a phenomenal job. This issue may not have had as many big reveals or as much action, but it did give us some valuable insight into some of the side characters.
X-Men 13 Marvel Comics 1992
Writer Fabian Nicieza
Art Art Thibert
Art Assist Dan Panosian
Color Rosas/Javins
Letters Lois Buhalis
Editor Bob Harras
#comicbookreviews #marvelcomics #xmen #90scomics #supportyourlocalcomicshop
The story by Nicieza is a bit messy in this issue. Thibert and Panosian’s art is decent. It still feels heavily influenced by Jim Lee, but they do appear to be attempting to be more than Lee clones. This is by far the weakest issue of this series so far, but there are a few good things in it.
This week’s Pull List Pick Ups. Can’t wait to read these! What are you most excited for? Let me know in the comments.

Infernal Hulk 5 Marvel Comics 2026
Writer Phillip Kennedy Johnson
Pencils Kev Walker
Inks Cam Smith
Color Matthew Wilson
Letters VC’s Cory Petit
Editor Jordan D. White

I am loving the story that Johnson is giving us. He’s able to balance the epic super hero action with more down to earth, personal moments. Walker has had several full in issues during Johnson’s run. I think this is his best work. The fight between Hulk and The One Above All’s vessel is insane.
Marc Spector Moon Knight 2 Marvel Comics 2026
Writer Jed MacKay
Art Devmalya Pramanik
Color Rachelle Rosenberg
Letters VC’s Cory Petit
Editor Devin Lewis
#comicbookreviews #marvelcomics #marcspector #moonknight #supportyourlocalcomicshop
MacKay is doing an excellent job exploring who Marc Spector really is. Pramanik really brought his A game in this issue. His page layouts are some of the most innovative I’ve seen in the last several years. You should give this series a chance. I can’t wait for issue 3!
Ultimate Wolverine 15 Marvel Comics 2026
Writer Chris Condon
Art Alessandro Cappuccio
Color Bryan Valenza
Letters VC’s Cory Petit
Editor Wil Moss
#comicbookreviews #marvelcomics #ultimatewolverine #ultimateuniverse #supportyourlocalcomicshop
This issue is well paced and well written by Condon. Cappuccio is a fantastic storyteller. He uses lighting, shading and shadow to incredible effect. It’s my favorite thing about his art. Valenza’s colors really help the art pop. I really enjoyed this issue, and I’m looking forward to the finale.
GI Joe 20 Skybound 2026
Writer Joshua Williamson
Art Andrea Milana
Color Lee Loughridge
Letters Rus Wooton
Editor Ben Abernathy
#comicbookreviews #skybound #gijoe #energonuniverse #supportyourlocalcomicshop
This issue is excellently written by Williamson. Milana’s art is once again on point. This issue is a great example of why I love this series so much. It has its place in the greater Energon Universe, but doesn’t ignore its own story. There’s plenty of cool action and great character development.
Lobo 1 DC Comics 2026
Story Scottie Young
Art Jorge Corona
Color Jean-Francois Beaulieu
Letters Nate Piekos of Blambot
Editor Kathleen Wisneski
#comicbookreviews #dccomics #lobo #dcnextlevel #supportyourlocalcomicshop
Everything Young has written that I’ve read, I’ve enjoyed. This comic continues that trend. Corona’s art is incredible, and I think he’s perfect for a series like this. Lobo himself looks absolutely awesome, with bulging, veiny muscles and massive guns. Go out and buy it, ya fraggin bastich!!
Void Rivals 11 Skybound 2026
Writer Robert Kirkman
Art Lorenzo De Felici
Color Patricio Delpeche
Letters Rus Wooton
Editor Ben Abernathy
#comicbookreviews #skybound #voidrivals #energonuniverse #supportyourlocalcomicshop
Kirkman is able to take Transformers and GI Joe lore and his own new creations and connect them seamlessly. De Felici gets to cut loose with a massive battle. The fight is fun. He really has an understanding of where everyone is, and where they’re moving to. You really should be reading this series!
X-Men 12 Marvel Comics 1992
Writer Fabian Nicieza
Art Art Thibert
Art Assist Dan Panosian & Trevor Scott
Letters Tom Orzechowski
Colors Rosas & Javins
Editor Bob Harras
#comicbookreviews #marvelcomics #xmen #90scomics #supportyourlocalcomicshop
This is a decent issue written by Nicieza. Thibert, Panosian and Scott do their best Jim Lee impersonation, but fall short. One thing I loved is the use of screen tones for the shading on several pages. This issue isn’t fantastic, but it’s just good enough to make you interested in the next issue.
Daredevil 2099 1 Marvel Comics 2004
Writer Robert Kirkman
Pencils Karl Moline & Mike Perkins
Inks Rick Magyar
Colors Nick Bell
Letters Dave Sharpe
Editor Tom Brevoort
#comicbookreviews #marvelcomics #marvelknights #daredevil2099 #supportyourlocalcomicshop
This might be one of the most interesting ideas Kirkman has come up with. The idea of a Fisk carrying on the legacy of Kingpin and Daredevil at the same time is fascinating to me. The art, by Moline, Perkins, and Magyar is pretty solid. If you find this, I recommend you scoop it up.
Absolute Batman 18 DC Comics 2026
Writer Scott Snyder
Art Eric Canete
Color Frank Martin
Letters Clayton Cowles
Editor Katie Kubert
#comicbookreviews #dccomics #absolutebatman #absoluteuniverse #supportyourlocalcomicshop
There’s a lot to unpack after reading this issue. Snyder gives us several smaller story beats. Canete is on art duties again in this issue, and I think his work might be even better than issue 17. These last 2 issues are a great example of what monthly, serialized comics can achieve.
Transformers 30 Skybound 2026
Writer Robert Kirkman
Art Dan Mora
Color Mike Spicer
Letters Rus Wooton
Editor Ben Abernathy
#comicbookreviews #skybound #transformers #energonuniverse #supportyourlocalcomicshop
Kirkman once again throws a huge shocker at the reader. It’s not just shock for the sake of it. What I find most impressive about Mora, is his attention to detail. These are battle weary beings, and you can see the scratches and dents on them. This is an incredible finale to Kirkman and Mora’s arc.
DC K.O. 5 DC Comics 2026
Writers Scott Snyder & Joshua Williamson
Art Javi Fernandez, Xermanico & Wes Craig
Color Alejandro Sanchez
Letters Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou
Editor Paul Kaminski
#comicbookreviews #dccomics #dcko #eventcomics #supportyourlocalcomicshop
This ending is pretty good, but I don’t love it. It’s well written by Snyder and Williamson. Despite being convoluted, it is mostly easy to understand. All in all, this series was a lot of fun with amazing art, and some unexpected twists. It’s worth your time and money.
