These vile toads want a kickback for literally every single thing you do on a computer. Edit a photo? Print out a welcome sign on your door for a party?

I would love it if people expressed interest in the nature of consciousness and the self but noticing a lot of people that only seem to care when it involves a slave that's your only friend and I think that might color the debate a bit.

Yeah I remember! I'm always so curious who else I homelabpilled. I guess it's at least one other person who is a full Internet random.

Tommy Refenes is another indie I know I've heavily influenced for infrastructure-y things, but I think that's the end of the list?

10+ years of five rack units (4 batteries) alongside misc small units has produced this in my garage:

EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus | Reliable LiFePO4 UPS Battery | EcoFlow US | EcoFlow US EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus offers a LiFePO4 battery with a 10-year lifespan, <10 ms UPS switchover, 1-hour recharge, and up to 4 days of backup for home and portable use.

I've been changing to LiFePO4. The huge camping batteries (DJI Power, Anker, etc) can cut over fast enough.

Smaller ones will be too slow unless specifically made for uninterrupted. I'm looking at this for network closet: www.ecoflow.com/us/river-3-p...

Throughout my 20s and 30s, I would occasionally do all-day screen captures to scan afterwards to see where my time went (it took me *how long* to do that file management task??)

I really wish I had saved some of those, especially the old ones. It'd be neat to see context like Google/etc!

This is the aftermath of an ICE kidnapping a few blocks from my home in St. Paul—an hour ago. A quiet street full of broken glass and at least three wrecked cars. The target of the kidnapping was taken away by ambulance. He was on a stretcher and covered by a sheet, though a cop said he was alive.

Emily Heller lives near 33rd and Portland and said she woke up to a commotion outside her home. She said she saw a car blocking traffic on Portland Avenue that appeared to be part of a protest against federal law enforcement operations.

Heller said she heard ICE agents telling the driver, a woman, to “get out of here.”

“She was trying to turn around, and the ICE agent was in front of her car, and he pulled out a gun and put it right in — like, his midriff was on her bumper — and he reached across the hood of the car and shot her in the face like three, four times,” Heller said.

Heller said it appeared the woman then accelerated and traveled about 100 feet before striking a utility pole and some other vehicles. She could be seen slumped over inside her car.

Absolutely horrific details about an ICE shooting in Minneapolis.

A witness says a woman was trying to drive away from an ICE operation and the ICE agent "reached across the hood of the car and shot her in the face like three, four times."

Bovino was there.

I like its range--a "scaffolding" solution might be dragging an existing dining chair into a closet to reach a high shelf

Or a huge (but still temporary!) multi-story pipe structure

Trying to use one in place of the other can be a surprising mistake😅

5 months ago 1 0 0 0

I often think of this sort of work as literal scaffolding--like temp structures that help you reach a high point with enough stability to even get up there at all

And then, yeah, you can more clearly from up high too!

The trick is it does have to be stable enough to hold (just eough) weight...

The "all messages have a subject" seems so minor, but it's incredible--you can actually find and resume conversations

Open source and can freely move between their paid service and self-hosting

For larger teams, the Slack moat is real, sadly (integrations, guests in both directions, etc)

Realized I was taking a lot of misc project photos with my phone, so I've been keeping a camera body with macro lens just lying around.

Resulting photos of a dye job on some tiny fpv drone frames and canopies. Turns out it's surprisingly easy to do!

New FBX importer: Feedback and discussion I’ve been working on new FBX importer (written in C++, based on ufbx library). While it “seems to work” on some files I tried it on, it would be great to get others to test it, and/or provide feedback...

Oy! Are you importing FBX files into #blender? I have a new (WIP) FBX importer that would appreciate some testing. Blender forum thread: devtalk.blender.org/t/new-fbx-im... and PR with details: projects.blender.org/blender/blen... and builds to download: builder.blender.org/download/pat...
