Finally watched Aftersun, and oh my god, that ‘Under Pressure’ scene… what a wrecking ball.

At the end of his career, someone really needs to make a tree branching off of Tunsil, of all the drafts picks / other trades that were put into motion starting with when the Dolphins originally traded him.

David Lynch gave us the language we needed to better articulate the indescribable strangeness of our shared reality. “Lynchian” is so overused because it’s a viscerally understandable word without any known synonyms. I can’t imagine a more beautiful artistic legacy than that.

Watching Mulholland Drive as a 16-year-old shifted something in my brain, in the way I viewed art, and was one of the inspiring forces that led to my decision to go to film school.

You were one of a kind, David Lynch.

Yeah, that whole thing was a little wild tbh, didn’t expect it. But I don’t like when I get fixated on “engagement”, feels like I’m succumbing to brain rot.

I get so embarrassed with myself when I fall into it. 😂

Social media has made people starved for insta-attention + obsessed with engagement stats and how theirs compares to others, etc. Admittedly I fall prey to this sometimes too. It’s a bummer.

More and more of my friends and colleagues in the LA area have been evacuated, and it’s such a helpless feeling to just… sit here, watching this chaos and destruction.

Please prioritize safety, everyone. As best you can.
