IMO: The build up to Longlegs' character was so we could be let down by how much of a loser he is. Kinda like real life serial killers (oh wow who'da thought). It made the untouchable horrors of the Devil feel more imminent and inescapable.

I LOVE Longlegs to an almost annoying degree.
But like...how tf are they going to do another one? Especially if Nic Cage is reprising his role? I'm not sure how you can re-mystify a character like that tbh. I guess there could be other agents of the devil?
