You are correct. Labour seem to want to self destruct after such a great GE win.
If they had all stood up to the media onslaught, it would all have been over by now, but they look after their own interests (Burnham etc.) and their own factions (the extreme left).
They don't deserve to be in power...

Not my opinion or experience. Thatcher was unpopular until the Falklands rescued her.
He is not as unpopular as the media or social media make out either.
We shall see.

If he's still there, over 3 years will have passed and so much can happen and change.
Seen it before...

So in the end, if you don't like Starmer, you think he should go.
If you do, you think he should stay.
What has changed?
On & forward...
I want Starmer & the Govt to put as much right as is possible after the Tory (& LibDems) 14 year sh*t show.
In 2029, if you still don't like him, vote accordingly.

No need to apologise, I can see why you did. Again, I agree with you 100% re climate and I'm all for socialism.
The thing is, other factors like defence, nuclear deterrents, being able to get enough seats etc. come into play.
A Labour/ Green Government with a splash of LibDems would suit me fine...😉

Just to be clear, they are not my councillors. I am not a Labour supporter as such.
I just think they and Starmer are the best option.
You are right about Reform.
I have voted Green before, but I'm afraid I'm no fan of your present leader, although he is preferable to any Tory/ reform.

I hope he doesn't go. Any replacement will face the same barrage of attack from the media and will make mistakes or have previous ones dragged up.
Labour need to get on with fixing everything and get judged at the GE in 2029.
For me, that is it.

Did you notice yesterday, that when these desperate MP's calling for Starmer to go, had it explained to them that he had not lied to Parliament, they reverted back to the judgement call in simply appointing him.
A call for which Starmer admitted was a mistake and apologised for, a long time ago.

This country (the UK) is going f*cking crazy over an appointment made by a Labour PM, not because it proved to be a bad decision and led to a sacking, but because it was made by a "Labour" PM.
Mandelson and his friend Epstein are the bad guys.
Starmer isn't Boris bloody Johnson either.
Wake up UK.

Abigail out.
Bye Abigail.

I don't think he should resign. It won't help Labour or the country.
Mistakes, yes.
Resignation, no.

This wasn't a comparison contest, I agree about the tragic issues in this country too.
We don't have mass shootings of children every other week or so, though.
Nor does the rest of the world. There might be a clue there if you do want to compare.

Sad news re more children being killed in the US by guns.
The right to bear arms, or your kids?
Not quite that simple I'm sure, but it bloody well should be.
An absolute tragedy... again.

Yep and probably lots of other appointments by many PM's over the years, where dodgy decisions were made.
The media aren't intersteted in that though, they just don't want Starmer (or Labour) in Government.
Good job it's not up to them.

2 days ago 1 0 2 0

Nope, disagree.
Sure, the Mandelson issue is a mess, but what PM never gets in a mess about something at some time?
Him resigning wouldn't do the country any good. Another leadership contest, another Labour PM for the media to pull apart?
Labour are in until 2029 and they should stick with Starmer.

Appointing Mandelson was wrong, no disagreement there.
Did Starmer break the law- no.
Did those two Tory PM's break the law- yes.

2 days ago 2 0 1 0

So the Tories had a PM (Lardy Liar Johnson) who actually broke the law while PM.
They then made Sunak PM "after" he too had actually broke the law.
Now they have the balls to call for Starmer (ex Head of Public Prosecutions) who has not broken the law, to go, for making an appointment he regrets...

Again, no need to apologise. The recent moonshot reminded me of the great America I love. Brilliant, diverse and working with the rest of the world. The Trump world is the worst of America. When it’s all over, please remember all those that enabled him.

No disrespect taken. I hope you are right. Not just for the US but for all of us. Good luck.

6 days ago 1 0 1 0

Yep we have our idiots over here too & have had two moron PM's (Johnson & Truss) in recent years.
We are no better.
Trump is something different though.
I'm certainly worried.
The US has done lots of good in the world, but lots of bad stuff too.
Electing the moron Trump (twice), being the worst.

I sympathise and understand that not all are stupid, of course, but anyone voting for Trump ever, no matter what the reason, for me, are completely stupid.
I see no other reason.
Good luck with getting your country back in safe hands.

Except I think the selfish ones, must also be stupid too.
So stupid and stupid, better describes them. 😉

6 days ago 0 0 0 0

Yep, you are right.
Looking from here in the UK though, your President was severely mentally ill in 2016 and in 2020 when tens of millions of Americans voted him in.
Sadly, millions of Americans (not all of course) must also be mentally ill.
He's not just destroying the US, but the world too.

Following Trumps latest plan, to block the Straight of Hormuz, which could lead to unthinkable consequences...
Please, please, will those with the power to do so in the US, remove this madman and his fellow loonies, in order to literally, save the world.
This can't go on. He will destroy everything.

The shared excitement over NASA’s recent mission compared to the general indifference to SpaceX missions speaks to the power of something seen as the product of communal human effort rather than just the ego and avarice of one obnoxious dork.

Pinched from the other place, but yes, Artemis shows us so much of the good side of the US.
A shame that Trump is destroying everything else good about it.

Yes, I agree. Not perfect, but decent and safe leadership.
We are just one bad GE away from being run by similar monsters and bullies though.

The USA, Israel and Iran.
Countries full of good decent people, but governed by monsters and bullies.
Recent years have shown us it can happen to any country in the world, to any of us.
Good decent leaders are rare.
Even half decent ones are.
Be thankful if you are not like the US, Israel and Iran.

To the good people of the USA, we know you are going through hell at the moment & putting much of the world through hell at the same time!
However, you are now giving us a good news story- Artemis.
This is when the US is indeed “great again” & it’s nothing to do with that maniac Trump.
Thank you.
