a screenshot of the right-side news feed on The Verge, set to "Latest," with a story at the top ("The next evolution of The Verge’s homepage is here") followed by an ad for The Verge subscriptions; another story ("New leaks reveal pricing and performance specs for DJI’s next beginner drones") and a quick post ("One more thing about Apple’s new CEO.")

the right edge of the content bumps right up against the vertical scroll bar on the right side of the frame

I like it! Reminds me a bit of the Polygon redesign that we launched in the summer of 2024, with a revchron module (though ours wasn't scrollable) to the right of the hero. 😄

On that note, the feed could use a bit of padding on the right (at least on my setup, which is Chrome / Windows 11 / 1440p):

say what you want about Joe Buck, but I (and most J! fans) thought he was one of the best guest hosts in the post-Trebek lineup

Old enough to remember when Glenn Beck tried this same pivot to revive his image during a dip in GOP popularity, before quickly reverting to form

Saw the film BlackBerry last night (excellent!), and I just have a couple of important questions:

1) Was all that stuff about the would-be Hamilton (ON) Penguins accurate? /cc @seangentille.bsky.social

2) Speaking of Ontario: Is the city indeed pronounced "wa-ter-LOO"??? /cc @karenho.bsky.social

Sorry to be overly sincere for a second, but here's why we decided to persevere through all of the bullshit and take over InfoWars.

There's just gotta be a line somewhere.

Thank you @pablo.show for letting me talk so openly about this.

a real testament to stefanik’s total lack of dignity that she is doing this AFTER trump totally threw her under the bus, backed up, and ran her over just to be sure

This is our go-to pressure cooker recipe. Not a ton of prep for a delicious meal with days of leftovers! (We like it better with chicken than beef, but that's totally up to you.)

if nothing else, this story should be the final nail in the coffin of the now-laughable idea that Supreme Court justices are apolitical actors who make rulings based solely on facts and the law rather than personal biases, partisan considerations, or outside influences

the funniest thing about this social media bluster is that *literally earlier this week* a federal judge dismissed Trump's defamation lawsuit against the Wall Street Journal because, among other issues, it came "nowhere close" to demonstrating actual malice

They Withdrew 401(k) Money Early, and They Have Some Regrets

"The increase [in early 401(k) withdrawals] comes as many households wrestle with higher borrowing costs and the rising prices of groceries and housing, which have created uncertainty despite the cease-fire in the war with Iran."

but the Dow is almost back up to 50,000!!! let's talk about that!!!

This is such a bummer. Our kid is 2, and I would love for his sports fandom to begin with a Yankee game — primarily because I'm worried about the decibel level at an indoor sporting event like a Rangers game at MSG. But I'm not sure things would be much better at Yankee Stadium!

Great piece! I totally agree with Kathryn's criticisms of the writing/plotting, and on that note, I'm glad to hear that the show won't be doing something as absurd as Men Will Literally Adopt a Baby Instead of Going to Therapy

to be fair, they had dropped the mom reveal during his argument with Dana an episode or two ago (it was in the "previously on" as well)

okay, so... for once, there's actually a totally legitimate, reasonable explanation for this one:
