CPS Director, Michelle Hamilton, will be at the State Fair today, Wednesday, August 27th to present as part of CLA's Power of the Word event. Michelle will be at the booth from 11 am - 1 pm sharing information about manuscripts, book arts, and our Medieval Books in the Schools outreach program.

RSVPs are required for this event. During the reception following the presentation, there will be an opportunity for participants (of legal drinking age and with ID) to sample precursors to the margarita. A cash bar will also be available to purchase a margarita or other beverages.

Yesterday Chef Gustavo Romero from Oro by Nixta visited Professor Michelle Hamilton’s class “SPAN 3506” to talk about the history and importance of corn and nixtamalization. Students had an opportunity to learn hands-on about historical practices and foodways of the Spanish-speaking world. 🌽 🌽🌽
