Splitting the party - when should you and what roles should go where

I mentor a community based kids robotic teams (a middle school aged team and a high school aged team). This is Squigle, the outreach robot our middle school team built so that small kids wouldn't be afraid of the robot. (The name has 1 'g' because they couldn't get the insta handle with 2).
