Tonight is a bloodbath for Trump and the GOP. Not only did the Democrats sweep in PA, NJ, VA and CA, they did so handily, with big turnouts & overwhelming margins of victory. Off-year elections are often a harbinger of the midterms. Republicans should be deeply worried about 2026.

Sure seems like Pete Hegseth’s nomination is toast. Not worth the fight it will take for Trump to get him confirmed. Now he’s floating Joni Ernst as a possible Defense Secretary nominee, along with DeSantis. Even so, his Cabinet process is a roiling mess. His term will get off to a rocky start.
