The game combines puzzles, choices, and a feminist retelling that centers on the Morrígan, Deirdre, and Queen Medb from Irish folklore. Whether you know the myths well or not at all, the game invites you into a fresh take on legendary stories.
On Monday, May 18th, 6pm-7pm we are delighted to have UL student, Zoe Dunworth, speaking to us about a feminist and interactive game she developed called Misneach na mBan (Courage of Women). The purpose of the game is to foster empathy and engagement with female perspectives in Irish Folklore.

We chose to honour Edel because of her tireless efforts to encourage women to come together in solidarity on women's issues, political issues and local issues.
Today marks the second anniversary of the death of our friend and colleague Edel Geraghty.
For our World Café on International Women’s Day this year we had a table dedicated to Edel, covering the topic of Women & Politics. Edel is greatly missed and continues to guide our work.
The screening takes 1 hr and 45 minutes, and is completely free of charge. We are looking into options to have coffee afterwards to chat about the films.
If you would like to join us for a morning at the movies, register your interest at limerick@womenscollective.ie or text/call/WA 087 328 3746
We are delighted to be able to bring a group with us to the Irish Shorts Programme at the Belltable Theatre in Limerick City, 10 pm on Friday April 24th. You can see more about the programme here: catalystinternationalfilmfestival.com/fri-24-april

The Women’s Social Hours is a space where women come together and chat, learn, laugh and share experiences. Each month has a different theme.
There is no need to register and light refreshments are provided.
The morning session is a part of the Limerick Lifelong Learning Festival 🫶
The purpose of this event is for women to share their experiences as neurodiverse in a confusing world.

Black text on white backgroung: Marking the beginning of Autism month, the 2nd of April is dedicated to raising global awareness of autism, and to promote the acceptance, appreciation, inclusion and joy of autistic individuals. Red text on white background: Keep in mind that If you have met one autistic person, you have met one autistic person! Autistic people are as different as they are many ❤️ Picture of linear spectrum and a picture of circle spectrum.
People often believe the autism spectrum is linear, ranging from little to a lot, but the truth is the spectrum looks much more like a circular rainbow, and people on the spectrum all present differently.
Each autistic individual may have a unique combination of characteristics and needs. This means that no two autistic individuals are alike, and categorising them based on a linear spectrum is impossible. As a result, we shouldn’t use certain labels to describe autistic individuals.
Labels for higher and lower functioning can be stigmatising and lead to discrimination. People who are labeled as ‘lower functioning’ may be perceived as less capable, needing more support, and therefore having their abilities underestimated. On the other hand, people who are labelled as ‘higher functioning’ may be dismissed as not needing support or adjustments in the workplace.
The 2nd of April is dedicated to raising global awareness of autism, and to promote the acceptance, appreciation, inclusion and joy of autistic individuals.
Here's some information on the Autism Spectrum, and if you want to learn more you can come to our Neurospicy Women event on April 23rd!
You can reach support for your journey from many different places, such as:

This is an annual event dedicated to celebrating transgender people, raising awareness of discrimination faced by transgender people, and acknowledging their contributions to society.
💝 We would like to say a huge thank you to the team at Mother Macs for their kind donation. They marked International Women's Day this year by giving back locally and donating some of their profits to us. Such funding assists us with working on the ground with women across Limerick City and County.
Sending a massive thank you to all our neighbours for your much appreciated support!
