Patrick Davidson on Sky is a bit of weirdo isn’t he. Think he’s asked everyone he’s interviewed so far if this afternoon’s game was a ‘top, top, high quality football match’.

Reminder to any conflicted United fans out there…
Enjoying a title race doesn’t make you a City fan. Arsenal cocking it up is interesting, but after more than a decade of it, City’s success barely registers anymore. It’s hollow. It’s meaningless. I’m far more concerned when Liverpool are up there.
Interesting that Martinelli, Trossard and White are all preferred off the bench ahead of Viktor “the final piece in the puzzle” Gyokeres with a goal needed in the biggest game of the season.
(He’s not injured is he?)
The little skip about 14 seconds in is giving ‘Dad in the garden come and get it off me’ energy.
They only went and did it the bloody brilliant bastards! Chuffed!
I don’t see the need for him to do so? It’s not ideal but Shaw’s played CB before and the two full backs have both played on either side before. It’s not panic stations just yet for me. If Shaw or Heaven go down then yeah, call the whole thing off! 😂
Apparently so.
Call me nostalgic, wistful, hopeful etc but it would be very ‘Man United’ of Man United to get a win at a place they’ve only won twice in 24 years with only one recognised fit centre back. FWIW I’d probably go with:
LB: Mazraoui
CB: Shaw
CB: Heaven
RB: Dalot
Up the reds!
Just seen that! Starting with low expectations softens the pain.
Hate to hear what they’d say about us! 😂
Hate to hear what they’d say about us! 😂
Hart just made a good point in the studio. His positioning (behind/on the line) was all wrong which prevented him from diving for fear of banging his head on the post. He’s having a strange game.
Really? I seen it a couple of times now and thought Neuer’s had another shocker. Not in the corner. If he’d dived, he’d have saved it I reckon. Looked complacent.
Gerrard defending Neuer on comms there claiming Guler’s free kick was ‘right in the postage stamp’.
I don’t think Steven Gerrard knows what ‘the postage stamp’ means.
Yep. That’s what a squad is for. It’s not ideal but both have showed they’re good enough and they’re only going to get better by playing games. Good luck to them.
Yoro and Heaven it is! Good luck lads! You’ve got this!
I spent some time earlier trying (and failing) to count back our league record there. Came up with 2 wins in 16 years. Then realised I’d added 2 years on. Then read a BBC Sport piece saying it’s 2 league wins in 24 years! 😂
That save, made to look regulation by the PSG keeper moments before Dembele’s goal, was huge! Not quite sure he was in full control of it, and it appeared as though it could have slipped from his grasp just as easily to be honest, but fair play! Different game if that went in.
The old switcheroo! Like what you did there.
I mean, I could literally call out every single player last night for their performance but that wasn’t really what the original post was about. More a comment on an area of the pitch which has consistently hamstrung us over the years. Our weakness in full back areas has let us down time & again.
Just had a flashback to Shaw ‘sprinting’ to the corner yesterday, jostling with his opponent, actually winning the ball only to then fall over & lose it. The sooner our first choice full backs are upgraded, the better. A debilitating weakness that’s often pushed down the list of priorities.
*14 years (I think)
that they’re capable of putting in a showing like last night, sit only 7 points above Chelsea (won twice at Stamford Bridge in 16 years) and have Liverpool to come. I’m not saying it’s doom and gloom, but I just feel there’s been an air of ‘oh they’re fine’ from the wider footballing community.
While trying hard not to appear wise after the event, the exclusion of United in all the ‘race for Europe’ talk, on the assumption that somehow we’ve already secured a CL spot, has been stark. This side, notoriously bad at being consistent, have shown time and again (literally this season)
Can we make 11 changes?

#CountyChampionship
Yeah. Definitely concerning. But having just had another look, & while not trying to make excuses for them as there clearly is an issue there, the qualifying system also appears flawed. Italy won 6/8 finishing 2nd to Norway while Sweden, who qualified, won 0/6 finishing bottom of their group. 🤷🏻♂️
Sweeping generalisation incoming but…
I think a lot of it comes down to how players are coached these days. There’s a mould. A path. Academies designed to replicate senior squads. Whatever manager is in charge, dictates how a child is coached. Flair and dare coached out of them making them ‘safe’.
