Perhaps Canada should follow Germany’s lead and stop arming Israel

Carney & Canada's statements on Gaza are completely vacuous & shameless

Gaza doesnt need Canada's pity. Canada is still arming Israel. Canada must implement full and immediate arms embargo. And sanction Israel. And suspend all military and trade agreements.

Escalate to break imperialist consensus

The hospitals are Hamas
The civilians seeking aid are Hamas
The orphaned children are Hamas
The clearly identified journalists are Hamas
The cameras that will continue to reveal the war crimes are Hamas

It's antisemitic blood libel to say Israel would bomb a hospital, unless there's proof Israel did bomb the hospital in which case the hospital was Hamas, unless nobody buys that the hospital was Hamas in which case it was a tragic accident and Israel is looking into it.

Israel bombed a hospital.

Rescue workers and reporters rushed to recover the dead and the wounded.

Israel bombed the hospital again. Live on TV.

Read that again.

Our government’s legacy will be its complicity in crimes against humanity. End all arms sales to Israel, now.

Canada has to put in real sanctions.

83% of people killed are civilians, mostly children.
Starvation and famine across Gaza.
200 journalists killed.
Bombing hospitals and then bombing the rescuers.
Expanding illegal settlements in the West Bank.

This has to stop. We have to do more.

Israel is committing war crimes on live stream and the Liberals are refusing to act

It is already far too late but at this point anything less than severe sanctions and an arms embargo makes us complicit in this genocide

Opinion: Ottawa’s Air Canada strike debacle shows it failed to learn from history By ordering flight attendants back to work, the government may be stoking further labour unrest

"On the workers’ side, the repeated use of Section 107 has sent the message that their Charter rights don’t count for much. Governments support the right to strike – until an actual strike happens." www.theglobeandmail.com/business/com...

And this is precisely why the Fed govt should have stayed out of it . Greedy corporations who collect bailouts but refuse to pay their employees fairly don’t operate in good faith as a rule so of course this would be their tactic

I get that’s it’s incredibly detrimental to have a strike but that’s also the point. It’s not ridiculous to be expected to pay people for the work they do and they hours that they do it in

The first stop for Pierre on his way back to Ottawa should be at CSIS to apply for his security clearance.

He has a month before the House resumes to take care of this. Will he?

In light of the Air Canada situation I thought I’d come back to pull this controversial little statement out of the archives

Thank you!!!

You thought you would try to correct my comment even though it’s bloody obvious people who don’t pay tax don’t get a tax reduction and now you’re irked that I am clarifying your incomplete information ? I’m really starting to see why this platform has the reputation it does 🥴

And to be more precise on your comment it isn’t only those living with disabilities and seniors. People who are single filers under 65 who make below the BPA for that year also do not pay federal income tax

11 months ago 0 0 1 0

I think it’s wisely understood that there would be no reduction on a rate of zero but if you want to be precise you could edit to say everyone with taxable income

11 months ago 0 0 1 0

We need a Canadian Heritage moment that shows society where there are no services that are currently funded by tax

11 months ago 2 0 1 0

You will pay 14% tax on taxable income up to $57,375 instead of 15%. So whatever that works out to based on your income situation

They are divesting from Israel not Israelis . The answer to what has Israel done is “commit war crimes to carry out a genocide”

11 months ago 2 0 0 0

To clarify for those who are unsure, everyone who earns taxable income is eligible for the Liberal tax cut. The 1% reduction applies to tax owing on up to $57,375 . Anything earned above that is taxed at the rate in the next bracket (as usual) but your rate is still reduced for tax on $57,375

11 months ago 43 2 3 0

It technically applies to everyone because it’s a 1% reduction on federal tax on earned income up to $57,375. (Income above that gets taxed at the rate in the next bracket (unchanged with this cut) but the person would qualify on the reduction of tax for the first amount)

I listened and was nodding my head and then she dropped that part and I cackled

I just saw a video where a women said she thinks there should be a knowledge test for people to vote and then went on to imply that if they did that conservatives would have won and I’ll be sure to let you all know when I stop laughing about that

Is not one particular person/comment . In the lead up to the leadership race, election and since there were many post that read like Carney is infallible , Canada’s saviour , perfect. It makes me uneasy bc seeing someone as these things often means you won’t be critical or will give them passes etc

I totally get that people want stability but we don’t have it. Trump is still a huge issue and the time between now and the next election is short given what we have to accomplish to ensure we don’t have Poilievre in office in the next few years
