Did you see that Apple has a workaround already? I can’t find the post from here that I saw earlier, but essentially there is an exemption for batteries that last more than 1000 charges before losing capacity, and a second exemption involving water resistance. Apple battery resilience is now boosted
I feel seen. Though the only time I ever missed a flight, the check in agent at Atlanta for the airline we were using co-ordinated with Virgin to rearrange our flight from New York so that we no longer had to cross NYC between airports to make it, and we also got upgraded to biz class, at zero cost.
Looks delicious - are those curry leaves in with the lemongrass?
In China battery electric trucks and hybrid trucks now outsell diesel trucks for the first time.
The view from Miradouro Sao Pedro Lisbon
Enjoy the miradouros!
Haha - for sure. Apparently they dropped from 26g to 21g in 2020, but had shrunk quite a bit before then. The justification in 2020 was supposedly to bring them in under 100 calories per govt guidance, though I’m sure profits had nothing to do with it!
One of my absolute favourites as a kid! Though they are much smaller today than they were back then.
I watched the Danish film “The Promised Land” on BBC 4 last night. Well worth a look if you enjoy depressing and slightly bonkers Scandi-noir movies.
Not the point but I loved prince of Persia
Oh, the irony
What’s Opta?
Without stating your age, post your favourite film released the year you turned 18.
Chris Evans and Sam Ryder on the set of TFI unplugged
Just watched the C4 2026 revival of Chris Evans’s TFI franchise. I thought it was pretty good. It keeps some fun bits while binning those that really don’t deserve an airing in the modern day. Lovely vintage interview with Bowie, old music clips and two great live covers by tonight’s guests.

I thought it must have been something I’d said 😂
Imagine my surprise when I switched to BBC2 just now and found Edward Woodward being serenaded by a Scottish siren in the Wicker Man.
Yes!
My daughters have both done it over the years - Tony Hadley did it a few years ago too; he was great!
I watched this back at the turn of the year, and when the girl was walking through the woods at the beginning of the film, had a sense I recognised her - it turned out to be my sister’s best friend from art school who had been a child actor!
I haven’t thought about that passage for 20 years, but somehow just recited it verbatim to my better half!
The Fog. I had nightmares for years after and to this day have no idea why my folks let me rent it!
This thread is worth your time as is this final video clip. There is no way Kenny Everett would have been allowed to sprint around under a jet plane like this these days!
Enjoy your induction hob! We switched from gas in 2011 and have never looked back.
Seeing that ogleshield reminds me I worked with bill oglethorpe its creator many years ago at NYD!
I’ve seen such mixed reports - plenty of people with similar stories to yours, but others saying the new system is more efficient. It sounds like it depends very much on local implementation
That’s quite a wonderful solo!
That’s so clever - and a handy use of AI too. Hope you’re keeping well!
We are regularly prevented from going to bed when our most sensitive cat comes on one of our laps!
