Yeah but it’s not a false binary at all. Markets shape outcomes & without power checks they concentrate wealth & destroy any chance of fairness. The system isn’t just stressed, it's rotten. If capitalism works so well, why does it fail most people? Are you actually benefiting, or just defending it?
And I say “Individual liberty” for who, and at whose cost? “Free markets” just means power for capital, not people. & The post-war consensus relied on exclusion and empire. Why assume markets deliver justice? What about inequality, labor power, and public goods? Who benefits most?
