Thank you Jasmine. For the record, my question was, "What do you think might be the advantages and disadvantages of including Religious Education in the National Curriculum, if we are trying to resolve the post-code lottery for provision and standards right now?"

I reckon if you put me and @deborahweston.bsky.social in a room together for 24 hours and then came to let us out, we’d still be sat there nattering!

You know that feeling is mutual. Did you notice how we all instinctively endorsed each others’ messages today? Fantastic sense of unity.

Please ask your MP why @educationgovuk withdrew subject knowledge enhancement grants for RE when 27% of religious education 2024/5 recruits secured a place on condition of that grant? RE missed the target by 22% so surely no grant means fewer recruits? @NATREupdate @bphillipsonMP

Each year I get the data that would allow me to do this calculation. November for provisional data and February for revised.

I wonder how I could crunch the data to explore this question more closely? Ideas?

Great advice for the @teamlabouruk.bsky.social government on #religiouseducation and #teacherrecruitment from @re-mcgee.bsky.social from @natre-update.bsky.social on BBC Radio this morning. 07:45 into this link www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/... #teamre

Yes but I don’t think this explains the stat. Firstly, only 20% secondaries have a rel character & according to research by the Sutton Trust admit fewer disadvantaged pupils on average than all schools -but there are differences between type of Rel Char school. Need to do some more filtering #TeamRE

My favourite narrow boat location has to be the Llangollen canal

I’ve done that for a few of my family lines: Conistone and the Yorkshire Dales, Sheffield - Hollis Croft, Whitechapel/Bethnal Green and Markinch in Scotland. Imagine moving to Whitechapel from the Dales for work!? Such a shock!

I find it interesting that when you investigate your genealogy, you often find you have an emotional connection through the stories of your ancestors, even when you’ve never met them. What about you?
