Traffic Control lets you limit how much of your Postgres compute resources any one workload can consume.
You can warn, block, or do a mixture of both when queries exceed these limits.
Postgres is using 80% of RAM, and that's a good thing.
But what's it actually doing with all that memory? At what point should you take action to mitigate usage?
Our latest blog breaks it down.

🧢 Stop by the PlanetScale booth if you're at SREcon for PlanetScale credits, hats, stickers, and great conversations about databases.
Query Insights just got way more powerful.
We now track tag metadata at the per-query level.
This allows you to filter queries by tag, see per-tag performance breakdowns, and set resource budgets with Traffic Control.
We’ll be demoing Traffic Control and answering all your questions during our livestream today at 10AM PDT. Register here:

How it works:
1. Create budgets that target subsets of your query traffic
2. Specify which queries fall in those budgets based on query patterns, app names, custom tags, or Postgres users
3. Set the resource limits each budget can consume
