Pretty much. It's hard when there's genuinely good stuff to be found, but it's such a fight to ward off the negative aspects.

Cut off from that, my outlook isn't great.
So far as I've been able to tell, the people in my local community don't care about much beyond the layout of grocery stores. There's very little in the way of creative gatherings, most of which would label Oprah's Book Club as "outside of comfort zone."
My relationship with social media is complicated at best; because on the one hand, it's very much not good for me in general.
On the other, I've already become pretty isolated creatively, & social media's the only way I've ever connected with other people who are creative in a similar way (1/2)
The -only- reason I am here is because Cohost isn't a thing anymore and I needed a place to put out updates for commission work. Now that I am not doing freelance fulltime the only thing keeping me here is habit, and one or two artists I like that post here.
