additionally there are so many characters and games where parenthood is implied to be part of the end goal by default and it shunts me out of the story every single time it happens
There are many games that I avoid because their narrative focus is on parenting and while I am not incapable of understanding their weight and appeal, it can be exhausting to encounter these stories over and over again (just like any other high-frequency stories)
my lukewarm take is that I would like more games that are neither distinctly mom games nor dad games
