You can no longer order free COVID tests from the government. Despite still having $500 million worth of COVID tests stockpiled, covidtests.gov is closed.

From blah to buoyant, these skills can improve your mood and optimism Last fall, thousands of people took part in a stress reduction study, learning skills that can improve mood and reduce anxiety. The results are in: Here's what they show.

I literally can’t sit for the entirety of a movie (a fun fact an ex would remind me of like— ok it’s the length of half a series season, NO, I cannot!) but on this long-ass grievous ✈️ I saw the new to me Deadpool, Quiz Lady, Knives Out, and Moana 2 😏

Shortest stint to ancestral land of my life— five? Six? Days in country. But! I did finish 2 books, started 2 more, and study for my boards (a little over a week!). THE THOUGHTS I HAVE on how we did Britney wrong 😫

THE COMMITTEE WEIGHS IN

I tell my mother
I've won the Nobel Prize.

Again? she says. Which
discipline this time?

It's a little game
we play: I pretend

I'm somebody, she
pretends she isn't dead.

I love this devastating piece from Andrea Cohen.

thinking of Mary Oliver writing, "We will be known as a culture that feared death and adored power"—and there really is so much in how a culture responds to loss, to mortality & vulnerability. do we try (endlessly, violently) to "conquer" it? suppress/erase/export it? or do we face it? do we grieve?

Slices of love: Cut fruit is my Asian mom’s love language Every day, the bowl [of fruit] looks different. One day, she'll make grid-like cuts into a halved mango so that we can easily scoop out its insides. The next day, she’ll arrange pear slices into a bea...

Here two images of jackfruit, my latest 🐇 🕳️ in these #DurianDiaries while cramming for my boards (as they slide me plates of yes, cut fruit). Pull quote: stanforddaily.com/2022/02/14/s...

Feeling tender about cut fruit—while many have in recent times expressed interest in this as a new care language, children of Asian parents may keenly feel this quiet, but strong love (e.g. “It’s her way of making sure that the bitter moments of my day can be instantly fixed with pure sweetness.”).
