One of the biggest lies in American culture is that the wealthy got wealthy by making morally good choices (ie working hard) and the poor got poor by making morally bad choices (ie being lazy and irresponsible) and that they both deserve what they got.

Sigh, this was the cherry tree that grew in my parents’ side yard for over 50 years of living there. I never saw them anywhere else, though I have seen plenty of standard cherry blossoms, and enjoy them every spring.

I had to say goodbye today. Buddy, the most ridiculous dog in the world travels across the rainbow 🌈 bridge. I told him to run free in the Elysian Fields. Then I came home to my giant irises that haven’t bloomed in almost nine years since I transplanted them here, one was in bloom.

After the sloppy and inept execution of Trump’s failure in Iran last week, I hope the precise and letter-perfect execution by NASA this week reminds the world that the United States is still capable of high levels of competence, in spite of its ridiculously incompetent and stupid president.

More STEAM in schools. Humanity is our best bet. Sadly, a few monsters hold power over the rest of us.

A few have suggested that some aspects of this mission--joy, international teamwork, diversity--are being played up to stick it to the hateful attitude of the administration. But I don't think it's that. I think it's just that those things are essential to and inseparable from a mission like this.

It made me tear up. And we must to be reminded of needless damage to humanity that results directly from the careless, bellicose bluster coming from the Pentagon and White House.

If the estimates were right, there were about 9 million people at No Kings rallies today.

That would mean this protest was THIRTY TIMES AS LARGE AS THE TEA PARTY PROTEST which we were told, over and over again, was a massively important sign that US politics had shifted dramatically to the right

When I was traveling across NC with my 17yo abt 6 mos ago, only thing open. I hadn’t been to one in ages, they had been begging for the experience, always saw them on our roadtrips up north to visit my family -my southern parents raised my sibs and me up north - I flipped it. They weren’t impressed.
