Scholars have sometimes sought to elevate "ever closer union" in order to give it a "higher" and potentially constitutional significance within the framework of the European integration.
In essence, I offer are some summative thoughts on the evolution of the concept of 'ever closer union'. An old chestnut of EU law, often mentioned but rarely 'unpacked' as a concept.
