The one I had prior was playing AI-generated country music, it sounded just like We Are Charlie Kirk

My Uber in Cape Town is blasting a contemporary rock version of Away in a Manger
Surely harassing the developers of the site will get them to see the errors of their ways and adopt my politics instead!
tbh I don’t think Bluesky has any desire to “challenge” the current bloc of social media platforms - if it did, video would be polluting this site. Small-form text isn’t as popular anymore as it used to be.
This has always been a test case for open protocol + cryptographic identity tech.
It was my captain’s last flight of his career from Atlanta to Cape Town today. We got a water gun salute, applause at the end, a speech or two, and got to fly in the fun LA28 plane!
Mildly interesting observation:
The TVs at the Atlanta airport are not playing CNN. It’s some new network called ReachTV
Copilot is incredibly shitty, tbh
I’m not sure what a company like Salesforce’s future looks like in a world where small businesses can just have an agent build out a CRM that’s custom-tailored to their usecases.
Why pay giant SAAS fees for solutions that have features you don’t need and lack ones you do?
Weren’t you the guy pushing Sam Altman’s crypto orb
I will say, I’m working at an AI-first startup and it’s actually crazy how much we’re able to accomplish because it’s been built in to our workflow from the start.
When I was at an enterprise level company, the attempts to graft on AI to existing processes was incredibly clunky, admittedly.
A lot of companies don’t know how AI will benefit them, but they don’t want to get caught in the trap that many did during the internet transition.
Crowdsourcing usecases isn’t the *best* method, I’d agree, but no one wants to be Blockbuster Video
Companies make you download their app. Use their website. This isn’t unique.
Motion controls, QR code menus, touch screens, connected devices…
You can’t get a nice TV rn without it trying to listen to your every word
It was a major fight in our family to get internet at my grandparent’s house but okay
This is very much a “thing I do not need” yet desperately want, but also will not purchase
I absolutely believe that things like Netflix and Uber prices - which are much more expensive than they were in the 2010s - over-index for people when they think about how much they’re spending
The response to COVID necessitated the end of ZIRP policy. Entire businesses were built around the idea of prioritizing growth over profit, and when money was no longer free the consumer surplus ended.
When you have a generation coming to financial literacy during that era, of course they’ll sour.
Where it BELONGS
only slightly upsetting that Lulu's The Man with the Golden Gun is not on streaming (I don't care for it)
more upsetting is that Surrender by k.d. lang isn't available, though
I made a ranking of the Bond themes now that First Light is out
007 First Light Title Song: Lana Del Rey – First Light www.youtube.com/watch?v=_XCP...
-Don’t complain
-it’s a pain
-keep it gay
Someone’s upset they couldn’t afford a ticket I see
Every single time it’s just people jealous they can’t go, and they try to externalize that FOMO into discourse
Trudeau going to Coachella doesn’t make it “over”, you’re just telling yourself that because you want to feel better about not going yourself
Coachella discourse makes everyone so unhinged
the PAM! bit is hilarious and while the humor always touches politics it’s never exclusively politics
It’s crazy how Josh Johnson works on The Daily Show yet still puts out >hour-long sets every week that manage to be funnier than any of the comedy news shows are
youtu.be/v31slqTf9Zw?...
idk I think it's pretty clearly the Millennial Subsidy ending and the fact this decoupling happened at the end of COVID
you have an entire generation that became financially literate during a time of unsustainable ZIRP suddenly crashing into fiscal reality. there's not a comp to that.
I'm not sure how measurable that anecdote is, but this was a Fortune 200 company and I know a TON of people in my network in the exact same boat as me
