Ben Visini's artist spotlight: What inspired you to choose your track? I was going through different tracks, and this one stood out to me purely for the fact it was called Random "Waltz", despite not being a Waltz. I understand it's using the definition of "walking around", but I thought it would be fun to arrange this song as a musical waltz as well. Were there challenges of arranging your track for this kind of instrumentation? Taking a song that exists in 4/4 and 5/4, and arranging it into 3/4 has a ton of challenges. Some notes/rhythms have to be changed in order to fit a shorter amount of quarter notes per bar, and certain melodic and rhythmic lines that work in the original time signature sound stilted and awkward in a new one, so I had to take a ton of creative liberty in modifying every element of the song. I did a light reharmonization for the first half to make it work better on solo piano, and a MAJOR reharmonization for the second half when it turns into a jazz waltz. Trying to find new chords that work with the same melody can be really tough, but it helped make it sound more like a traditional standard.
