The insane cruelty of Trump is without equal. He has absolutely no regard for the two teenage daughters left behind by the victim’s death. I doubt they will sleep tonight. There is no mistaking what he is, and there is no excuse for his followers. He must be removed from office.

To conservatives who’ve objected when some of us have suggested Trump is a fascist, and who’ve complained when some us point out that much of real existing American conservatism has devolved into fascism, if you’re silent about Trump’s threat of genocide you’re proving the point you’ve objected to.

Absolutely exhausting, but also profoundly morally corrosive, to live like this.

Always remember that what also makes this war so detrimental and so dangerous is that the President of the United States lies every time he opens his mouth. And everyone knows he lies every time he opens his mouth. So nothing he says can be believed. What a shitty thing this is.

It's not just Iran whose surrender is being demanded. It's yours. Your hope. Your belief in yourself and our collective potential. Your empathy. They want to crush those things. They want you to believe their will is inevitable.

They want you to surrender.

It probably doesn’t matter but I called my Democratic members of Congress.

And it probably doesn’t matter but they should push for impeachment.

Because morally, it still matters that we try.

We as a country have the power to stop Trump, with generals refusing to execute his orders and Congress able to remove him. If we do not and he carries out this this threat, we share collective guilt and are open to collective retaliation. This is the price we pay for "democracy." No hiding.
