So it looks like updated dazzle camouflage because it IS updated dazzle camouflage. Ok thanks for that—I was so confused by just the everything in that picture. I was so fixated on the insane paint job/slip cover it took me an embarrassing amount of time to realize it was Biden behind the wheel.

I’m sorry I can’t get over whatever the hell is going on in that picture. Were they afraid of U-boats?
Sleepaway Camp, hands down.
I’ve mostly made my peace with it since, but holy shit did that ending catch me off guard and piss me off on that first watch. It’s not just the horrible twist itself—it’s how unnecessarily awful and gross every second of the reveal is. Salt and lemon juice in the wound.
I’d give you shit for drawing an eldritch rune but at work I recently had to put x’s on several piles of forms (to mark where they needed to be signed) and my x’s very quickly devolved into the Jesus fish symbol because making two separate strokes with my pen was too hard for my cramping hand, so, 🤷♀️
Image of a man in glasses speaking against a black background. It is captioned: “I know writers who use subtext and they are all cowards”.
The first hour or so reminded me a lot of Phantasm (which I love) and then they started playing Blue Danube and I realized I might have bitten off more than I can chew. (pun intended). Absolutely revolting. 5 stars.
What the fuck did I just watch?(extremely complimentary)
Seriously though, Society sounds like it might be worth tracking down. Thanks for the recommendation! :)
I will not brook F13: The New Blood slander. It’s Jason vs. Carrie. It is peak cinema. Art of the highest caliber seeking timeless truths. Psychic girl or murder zombie?
I was raised Evangelical amid the whole apocalyptic buildup to the year 2000 and I am struggling every bit as much. There were whole bookshelves dedicated to books warning about this very sort of behavior.
I never knew why somebody might want to shoot the messenger until this very moment.

Ooh! Add in Polite Society (2023) and make it a triple feature!
Unlikely double feature (that somehow works!):
Pride and Prejudice (2005)
They Will Kill You (2026)
Enjoy these two social satires about class and sisterhood!
The way I’ve seen some of them use dead names as a sort of Rumpelstiltskinian gotcha leads me believe the answer is a firm yes (at least for some).
Blood alcohol content.
Seeing if we can bring Zack Polanski out of retirement for one last job.
Welcome to Linux! There are no errors or bugs only learning opportunities! :)
Understandable! Anya isn’t even my fave and that wedding episode still made my blood boil! Xander’s relationship with Anya was Xander’s ONLY redeeming feature for me, especially because of how bad everyone else always treated her. Ditching her made him irredeemable. She was way too good for him!
Tbf, I think why it took so long to notice is that depending on when/where you grew up he could come across as just a normal guy. I knew at least a dozen Xanders growing up so until that speech almost none of his behavior stood out as egregiously toxic on first watch. (Most got better, thank god.)
My experience was similar but my breaking point was the uber gaslighty “Riley cheated and that’s your fault and you need to beg for his forgiveness” speech he gives to Buffy in season 5, but on rewatch it was “oh you were always absolutely terrible”.
Aunt Bea slapping free range stickers on all the girls.
Lol. I figured. The moment he said the most truly jaw-dropping thing I was tempted to immediately go back to s1, episode 1 and scour the whole show for evidence, but alas I decided to be sane.
He is so dumb. Just a golden retriever in human form. :)
Oh it might be a while until you get to it, but be ready for him to say some of the eggiest/most repper shit you’ve ever heard a tv character ever say. I only noticed in s3 so most of my examples are all from s4-s5 but they are many.
This describes so many things.
The “fun” of the trans experience is going through a huge chunk of your early life feeling like a fucked up freak because nobody else is remotely like you only to eventually learn that you’re actually a giant cliche.
Springing the clocks forward on International Women's Day feels like misogyny.
Jared Leto
Dr. Strangelove from the movie Dr. Strangelove holding a cigarette and grinning creepily as only somebody who missed out on Nuremberg due to a paperclip can.
So jealous! :)
The cigarette smoking man is going to be pissed.
