But no we have to go thru years of extremely poorly paid indentured servitude to prove our skill set. If you don’t suffer to earn your title then you haven’t done enough ♥️ ♥️ like I should be able to pay my bills and do pro bono services AT MINIMUM and I can’t. that’s ridiculous

Like. This isn’t conducive for anyone’s healing. I’m so glad I’m so close to being able to start my own practice like… I am tired of not having a real voice at work or time for advocacy and outreach. Cutting my hours back would give me time to do macro work and work against real systems… UGH

Realizing that working for a profit oriented place that plays by predatory insurance company rules (cbt gold standard, denying evidence based practices because they aren’t manualized) just feels like I’m being torn apart by the same shit that is eating away at our safety and security

It’s still fucking brutal getting hit with this shit with the question of “what do I do” when it’s NEWS to me… I don’t know yet! Guess what counseling education does not prepare you for: adapting to fascism. I’m still learning too. 🤦
