I think that both Any Human Heart by William Boyd and Earthly Powers by Anthony Burgess would be my choices, assuming I’ve remembered them correctly.

I know it's not the most important thing here but Quentin Tarantino didn't even write the fake Bible verse. He stole it from an old Sonny Chiba movie. And something about that last extra layer of bullshit really adds something to this whole thing, to me

So, the astronauts returned to earth exactly on time. As someone who's always early, here's why that's rude:

A Lego figure, with a business suit on and red arms.
A raspberry has been put on its head, which looks like a big bubbly hairstyle.

A raspberry makes a really great hairstyle for a Lego figure.

From Clickhole's "Incredible! We Asked These Astronauts What It’s Like To Be In Space," Barry Wilmore: You never know true beauty until you see Earth from space, or true terror until you hear someone knocking on the space station door from outside. You look through the porthole and see an astronaut, but all your crew is inside and accounted for. You use the comm to ask who it is and he says he’s Ramirez returning from a repair mission, but Ramirez is sitting right next to you in the command module and he’s just as confused as you are. When you tell the guy this over the radio he starts banging on the door louder and harder, begging you to let him in, saying he’s the real Ramirez. Meanwhile, the Ramirez inside with you is pleading to keep the airlock shut. It really puts life on Earth into perspective.

It was a glorious, glittering Saturday a couple of weeks ago when a small group of us descended on Folkestone Beach to do a recce for a protest that will take place in June.

We hope that Mothers in Arms, a cross-party campaign for female safety, will involve hundreds of women and girls – mums, daughters, sisters, aunts, grandmothers – coming together to stare defiantly across the English Channel, which is crossed daily by hundreds of men in small boats from countries where women are treated appallingly

Correct me if I’m wrong, but after a few minutes’ searching online, I think Allison Pearson has revealed she is spearheading a nonexistent group that plan to get ‘hundreds of women and girls’ to stand on a beach and stare at France

These two swimming reindeer carved into a bone is the oldest piece of art in a British museum. It was made during the end of the last Ice Age, around 13,000 years ago. The way the carver uses the slight curve of the bone to create movement is ingenious.
