It’s a work in progress, but some key points are that the pleasure of disabled folks is devalued bc we are expected to focus on survival and being less disabled above all else and pleasure spaces allow us to resist that AND to build community

The "race tax" is real and it's never on the offer letter. Black professionals spend 2-7 extra hours/week on DEI, mentorship, and visibility labor their white peers skip entirely. That's 100-350 unpaid hours a year. Negotiate accordingly. #raisewages
When I got my PhD one of my advisors told me to always negotiate for as much money as possible because I would ultimately be doing so much invisible/unpaid race labor compared to my white peers. I’ve been thinking about that warning a lot this week. I heard it then. I understand it now.

I paid for 3 months of a dating app so I can see who already liked me. The number of 23-26 year olds in that mix (I turn 40 this year) is baffling. Like, I could have been your babysitter or even your teen parent. Absolutely not. I barely consider 33 year olds age appropriate partners for me. 😆
