I repeat once again that the problem is capitalism, forcing you to compete with the cheapest option by creating artificial scarcity. Oh, you want to pay a real person 10x the cost? Too bad, your boss needs to take most of your paycheck for his tenth yacht so he can compete with the other owners.

If however it's something you hate doing or are doing purely for the output, like doing your taxes or accounting or programming- assuming you don't like doing these things- then of course it's gonna appeal.

I wonder how much AI will give us the tools to evade Windows dominance. It's just shifting the problem of course, but I'd rather have to deal with a dozen AI companies than one monopolistic software company.
And we may be able to democratise AI later on. So it's... a thought.

I've been able to use Copilot for. Copilot can just directly execute commands in the terminal. When I'm confused about something, I don't have to spend ages learning the commands and subtleties. I don't have time for that and imagine that being a barrier for a lot of other people as well.

Confession time, I've found Github Copilot insanely useful for navigating Linux issues. I'm relatively new to Linux, and have sometimes shifted back to my dual-booted Windows for certain things. Since using Github Copilot, I've been using Linux more because some of the things I had to deal with...

Keir Starmer is going to resign shortly after the May elections. He will take the blame for the electoral failure but in a way which cannot possibly indict the party. He'll stay an MP and get some cushy, very well-paid job.

It may well be that some cultures are morally worse than others, but given human biases for us to try to judge that is just not going to work. And if you're trying, I am extremely suspicious of your motivations. Most of the time you don't even know the culture you're saying is "worse".
