Canada could help mitigate the damage to US education and global R&D by massively expanding our post-secondary education sector. Unfortunately our leaders see government spending, esp on education, as inherently wasteful, to be minimized, not as investments that create new markets and opportunities.

The time to invest in Canada's future is now. Only the state can play this role. Instead, gov'ts are slashing the university sector. Carney has our civil service focused inward on DOGE-esque waste elimination when they should be developing innovative moonshots to strengthen Canada and the economy.

the best way to make sure that you and your loved ones survive isn't to grab a gun and go shooting wildly. it's to make connections in your community, talk to your neighbors, organize in all forms of life. we need to help the people most vulnerable, and we need to build a new future

Here’s the truth about policing in America, & why you should care even if you’re white, housed, documented, & not wealthy. Policing was never about protecting the public. It was built to control people. That control now targets all who defy the ruling class. #Voices4Victory #DemVoice1 #ProudBlue

"Learn to Code" Backfires Spectacularly as Comp-Sci Majors Suddenly Have Sky-High Unemployment It looks like the "learn to code" push is backfiring spectacularly for those who majored in computer science in college.

Wow no one could have predicted this.

I’m sure AI will fix all this up.

It is surreal to be bombarded with constant op-eds about how we must finally admit that lockdowns, mask mandates and school closures didn't work.

Yes they did! COVID death rates were driven by lax policy and low compliance, mostly in red areas.

Are groundbreaking science discoveries becoming harder to find? Researchers are arguing over whether ‘disruptive’ or ‘novel’ science is waning – and how to remedy the problem.

For decades, science-policy experts have worried that breakthrough findings are harder to come by, in turn feeding into slower economic growth. It’s a theme that some of the world’s most powerful science officials are harping on today. 🧪 www.nature.com/articles/d41...

Plagiarism machines have stolen every word I've ever written, including my book, without 1 penny of compensation, no consent. They're using the life's work of countless writers to spit out garbage--dangerous garbage. And the con artists running this scam are ruining the environment to do all that 🤮

A.I. Is Getting More Powerful, but Its Hallucinations Are Getting Worse

“Today’s A.I. bots are based on complex mathematical systems that learn their skills by analyzing enormous amounts of digital data. They do not — and cannot — decide what is true and what is false. … On one test, the hallucination rates of newer A.I. systems were as high as 79 percent.”

Scammers often begin by creating dozens of fake Facebook pages and lookalike websites mimicking real news or government sites. These deceive users and evade Meta’s systems. But setting up fake pages and sites is just the first step in their scheme.
