Yeah - it was that one. The bit that annoyed me most was the notion that straight women aren’t getting married or having babies because they’re ‘radicalised’ and somehow deliberately trying to ruin society. Nothing to do with men OF COURSE.

I read that New Stateman piece over the weekend. There are a couple of shocking elements in the attitudes of young women they spoke to, but other than that it mostly seems to be predicated on the idea that being sceptical about neoliberalism is an equal and opposite phenomenon to violent misogyny?

If Joe Wicks or the Huel guy were women, we'd call this what it is: promotion of eating disorders. If a female influencer was encouraging her following to replace all food with meal replacement shakes Jameela Jamil would be on her like white on rice. If a woman went on a podcast and boasted that she ran a marathon without water or food, then talked about how exercising isn't necessarily an 'excuse' for eating more, we'd diagnose her with orthorexia and call her a dangerous role model

Madonna’s icon status is indisputable. I like her music as much as the next person (which is enough to bop when it comes on but not enough to actually buy it for my collection) but COME ON YOU HAVE TO RESPECT THE PIONEERING/ICONNESS.
Quite apart from anything else, imagine how much you’d need to earn to be paying £98k in tax. The tax bill alone is more than 3 times the average income of a person in the U.K.

People keep telling me they've always been Labour voters, but not any more Nigel Farage is expecting a political earthquake' in the local elections next month - but insists the era of Tory defections is over.
Cosy fluff-piece on Farage in today’s Times, I note. Don’t hold out much hope they’ll have mentioned the number of Reform candidates with previous for extreme racist views or wanting to decimate the NHS. *sighs*
You know how the (many many) good men in the world *show* that it’s ’not all men?’. By listening, believing, absorbing, learning, calling it out where they can and thus becoming allies. They rarely engage in whatsboutism, try to derail the conversation or indeed *say* ‘not all men’.
It’s a poor reflection on humanity that in the year of our Lord 2026 one can write a piece about an abusive man and still be met with ‘but women can be abusive too’, ‘what about all the women who support him?’ or even the classic ‘not all men’ but HERE WE ARE *screams into pillow*
