Nigel Farage's newfound concerns over X are blatant hypocrisy, writes Natasha Devon | LBC 'The leopard has begun to eat Farage’s face'

Farage has suddenly decided he has concerns about X. I’ve written for @lbc.co.uk about why this is blatant hypocrisy and he should sit TF down - www.lbc.co.uk/article/nige...

Today, the thought of doing that makes me feel really rather weary. But I’ll let you know how
I’m feeling Friday.

Also there’s loads of Muslim, Arab and Black women on these marches too but god forbid gender criticals should portray ‘forren’ women as having freedom or agency.

Are we not out of the ‘everything women do is feminism and therefore must be supported’ era yet?

1 day ago 1 0 0 0

Yeah - it was that one. The bit that annoyed me most was the notion that straight women aren’t getting married or having babies because they’re ‘radicalised’ and somehow deliberately trying to ruin society. Nothing to do with men OF COURSE.

I read that New Stateman piece over the weekend. There are a couple of shocking elements in the attitudes of young women they spoke to, but other than that it mostly seems to be predicated on the idea that being sceptical about neoliberalism is an equal and opposite phenomenon to violent misogyny?

Meet James Bembridge, the Reform candidate for Westminster in next month’s local elections.

As well as this tweet, Temu Lex Luthor here, has also been quoted as saying "Most NHS nurses look like they're eating food banks out of business."

Don’t let him get his deposit back.

If Joe Wicks or the Huel guy were women, we'd call this what it is: promotion of eating disorders. If a female influencer was encouraging her following to replace all food with meal replacement shakes Jameela Jamil would be on her like white on rice. If a woman went on a podcast and boasted that she ran a marathon without water or food, then talked about how exercising isn't necessarily an
'excuse' for eating more, we'd diagnose her with orthorexia and call her a dangerous role model

'Health Influencers' or Eating Disorder Promoters? I’ve been concerned for some time about the lack of qualifications and/or accountability amongst so-called health and fitness influencers on socials.

New Substack - on the tyranny of so-called ‘health influencers’, on men being vulnerable to eating disorders too and Dump the Scales’ brilliant new campaign - tashthinks.substack.com/p/health-inf...

The Niños aren’t alright This week, as a break from talking about World War III, I'm bringing you a bunch of scary stories about climate breakdown.

"Anyone not cashing cheques from big oil would look at this crisis and realise that it underlines the need to transition towards renewables.

But those cheques are about to get a lot bigger, because BP just announced an ‘exceptional’ quarter for its oil traders."

Madonna’s icon status is indisputable. I like her music as much as the next person (which is enough to bop when it comes on but not enough to actually buy it for my collection) but COME ON YOU HAVE TO RESPECT THE PIONEERING/ICONNESS.

Quite apart from anything else, imagine how much you’d need to earn to be paying £98k in tax. The tax bill alone is more than 3 times the average income of a person in the U.K.

'If Boris Johnson and Keir Starmer can both have the same outcome, something's clearly rotten.'

@natashadevon.bsky.social questions the government by drawing parallels between two contrasting prime ministers.

Join me from 6pm on LBC (Sat 18th April):

- Can (and should) Starmer’s premiership survive the Mandiscandi?*
- How would you like to see the U.K. respond to Hormuz being re-closed?

- Is it fair to expect parents to solve
the issues of children being radicalised on social media?

People keep telling me they've always been Labour voters, but not any more
Nigel Farage is expecting a political earthquake' in the local elections next month - but insists the era of Tory defections is over.

Cosy fluff-piece on Farage in today’s Times, I note. Don’t hold out much hope they’ll have mentioned the number of Reform candidates with previous for extreme racist views or wanting to decimate the NHS. *sighs*

You know how the (many many) good men in the world *show* that it’s ’not all men?’. By listening, believing, absorbing, learning, calling it out where they can and thus becoming allies. They rarely engage in whatsboutism, try to derail the conversation or indeed *say* ‘not all men’.

It’s a poor reflection on humanity that in the year of our Lord 2026 one can write a piece about an abusive man and still be met with ‘but women can be abusive too’, ‘what about all the women who support him?’ or even the classic ‘not all men’ but HERE WE ARE *screams into pillow*

Wow this is so disturbing. I’ve cc’d our tech correspondent at Lbc so it’s on his radar. Thank you for sharing.

It strikes me that you have completely missed the point I was trying to convey in my article. But that’s okay.
Not everything I write will resonate with everyone. Have a lovely day!
