When recommending a book to a child, 'Here's a book I read, loved and think you'll enjoy' carries more weight than 'Here's a book from a list that someone else says is good'. Lists can be a real help and a great starting point but knowing (at least some of) the books is crucial.

So lovely that you make the effort to help yourself remember!

I'm in the lucky position where I work in Year 2 but see the Year 1s all the time and do phonics bits with them so I know all the children I'm getting at least a little bit. Makes transition really smooth.

Spent today in school setting up my classroom and my friend's room with some tasty Greek food for lunch in the middle. Not a bad way to work!

Last night of a week away with my mum and sister. We've visited lots of lovely places, seen lots of wildlife and I've read lots of books so I'd call that a successful week!

We're staying near Blairgowrie this time - it is about an hour from where my sister lives so worked well for collecting her for the holiday! Today was mostly relaxing after the drive up and a lovely forest walk. Tomorrow, we're off in the direction of Pitlochry.

On holiday in Scotland and having a delightful time - managing to relax and enjoy nature.

Gearing up for three more days at work before we break up for summer. Ready for a rest but it has been such a lovely year that it doesn't feel time for my class to move on yet!

We had our Year 2 out on a trip yesterday, too. Short drive to a very famous local landmark and a walk through the nearby fields/forest. So many said they had never done anything like it.

I am having SUCH a lovely first week back with my class. Super attitudes, sunshine and a very last minute trip to the theatre are just some of the highlights.

The Easter holidays are here, so I have a copy of Primary Reading Simplified to give away.
