They've been putting more emphasis on participating broadcasters on YouTube in recent years, but I have never understood why they don't in the TV broadcast. Why don't they have the participating broadcaster on screen before each act, alongside the country, artist, title and writers/composers?

When I was in secondary school we didn't wear shorts either. It was never explicitly said we couldn't, but was some assumed unwritten rule I guess. The only allowance made for summer was that boys could ditch the tie (girls didn't has have to wear one ever).

Tbf some of them having been doing that this series too. One team spent 10% of their budget on one taxi ride!

So maybe they were keeping their options open.

Just gone back and checked the stage reveal videos...
In the Lighting Design one, the t/c is just dark except for lights along its edges. However, in the original video, while most of it makes it appear to be made with LED screens, there is this one bit at the start where the strip lights are shown.

They always look smaller in these empty arena photos/clips. They end up looking better on TV. And big stages aren't always good as they can end up looking empty.

Upon consideration, I think having the treble clef bit just as strip lights will probably look better as otherwise it may end up being an LED screen overload.

This shot from an news segment shows that while the 'treble clef' appears to just be light strips, the catwalk will be full LED flooring.

The Eurovision 2026 stage in blue and purple. The main stage features a LED wall that curves down into a LED floor. On the wall is the Eurovision 2026 logo. On the left is a curved walkway leading up to the ceiling with lights following its route.

I only watch when something Eurovision-related is on.

Hopefully! The fact he built the staging himself and made the music on a homemade synthesiser needs to be shouted from the rooftops! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Graham certainly sometimes sounds like he's referring to a readout. Last year, he did say a delegation had told them such-and-such about the song, i think it was ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ต.

Web version is fine (for me anyway). I don't use the app anymore.

Yeah, he's described it as having a lot of movement, "complicated", "risky" and that the tempo change comes into it too.

He told the PA that he finished it about a couple of hours before going to the hospital!

Going by what LMNC told wiwibloggs and the Press Association, seems he's part-built his staging. Panels etc have been done by him, but the bigger and more structural elements have been contracted out in the usual way. #Eurovision

And even with boycotts in mind, sure there will be less hype, but it's not totally dead like some claim. And there's less news this year because most of what is usually announced around now was done before, such as interval acts and postcards.

Algorithms are designed to show us what it thinks we want to see, so if we engage less, we'll see less. If we deplore the lack of hype, it'll show ppl saying the same thing. I still engage and so I'm still seeing plenty across my social media.

๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ฎ Linda & Pete on Good Morning Britain today. Turns out Susanna's world has fallen apart because she genuinely thought Sam Ryder was actually playing the guitar live, and L&P have been introduced to the cultural masterpiece that is Balamory. #Eurovision

Surprised I've seen no one else mention this seeing as it's been out for like 6 months, but the 2026 GWR has a full double page spread on #Eurovision. Normally it's just a single record at most.

Wait, I'm only just finding out Copenhagen is on a separate island and not part of the Danish mainland?

3 days ago 0 0 0 0

Looks like it's been there a while and I can't see the relevance of these to any staging he'd have.

Has 2024 traumatised you so much that you've forgotten about it? ๐Ÿ˜… And technically last year involved big props. We pretty much always (well, nearly) have big props!
