my family is not religious but we still behaved today, had a simple lunch, not as many sweets for coffee time, i didn't blast music the entire day. it makes me wonder what [my best friend] would've said about all of this. he was deeply religious and passed while having his last prayer.

it made me see religious fasting and devotion in a different light.
christian fasting is not as apparent and today on good friday today i saw a lot of insta stories and a lot of splurging, food, events,, it made me realize once again that i have no respect for Christianity - presented like this

religion is such a weird thing to watch;
this year was the first time i "witnessed" ramadan rather up close as one of my classmates was fasting the entire 2 schoolweeks we were there together and while our class did have regular mealtimes we still celebrated iftar with her every night
