I do think this was healing a part of him that's been broken for a long time, and while there are a million other ways we could have achieved it (how dare they take abuela from us!!!!!) I see the vision of what they intended and think it was beautiful for Eddie's journey.

For Eddie, it's realizing he can just take the good and leave the bad when it comes to his faith. He can choose to believe in signs while still condemning the things that turned him away from the church in the first place. He doesn't need to find god - he just needs love. -c-
And here we see Eddie finding a healthy way for both him and Chris to process their grief and remember their loved ones. No more looking for Shannon's ghost in other people; just Eddie, remembering the deep love he has been privileged to experience, and the lessons left behind. -c-
To abandon the rigidity of organized religion, and to instead find connection with his community and the rituals that resonate with him. The Dia de Muertos parade acts like a sign from abuela herself, showing him that he can follow his own path. -c-
But the conversation with his abuela also makes a lasting impact, about how faith doesn't need to be found in the walls of a church - it's in the lasting love we feel for others. To me, this pushes Eddie to define what spirituality looks and feels like for him. -c-
Her parents were willing to hurt her just because she turned away from her faith, and convinced themselves it was just and for her benefit. This triggers Eddie, because IMO it is a reminder of his own upbringing and the reason he turned away in the first place. -c-
He doesn't share it with anyone, and maybe part of that is wanting something for himself without any outside pressures or expectations. There are obviously elements of it that he enjoys, and elements that he doesn't - we see this in the call with the "possessed" girl. -c-
Yes, he initially tries to find answers within the church itself, but this IMO was a necessary part of the journey for him after everything that happened with Marisol, Kim, and Bobby. It's something he does for himself, to explore his identity and his past. -c-
I feel like this episode is one I'll have to sit with and think on a little, but my initial thoughts is that it was a beautiful exploration of grief as well as being a reconciliation between Eddie and his culture. -c-
just a quick post to say I have nottt seen the last episode yet which is why I've been quiet! I'll probably check it out tonight or tomorrow, I was feeling under the weather and then busy with a fic I'm working on
🎞️🎥PRESENTING part 2/3 of:
A Fright Night! Triple Feature 😱
🍿Now Showing:
In the House of Self Undoing 🌕🐾
brought to you by: my good friend taegyungie on ao3
I had to replay 3 because it glitched and I didn't get any dispatch calls lmao but it was worth it for the improved dispatch response
Just finished chapter 3 and 4 of dispatch. Man, can it be next Wednesday already???
LMAO NOOOOOO omg the worst possible scene to watch at work
It's super annoying but I'm gonna guess they use it as part of the elimination process, because it makes it easier to filter applications if some of the required stuff is missing. It's like a trick question 👎
omg yeah we have an android box and it's on a program we have on it. I got rid of my HBO a while back since I wasn't watching it enough, I didn't realize originally that this was even an HBO series (it kind of surprised me tbh)
me joining blue sky trying to find my tw*tter oomfs
YEAH, SAME, LMAO
yesss just came out the other night! it's interesting so far hehe
I did see a mute user feature on here but it might be new! I just know because I muted someone who I had muted over on twitter lol
ohhh the custom feeds is a good idea too, I'll have to look more into those. I used lists a lot on twitter to filter, so I had lists for like people who actually interacted that I wanted to interact with more or for specific fandoms to sort my following list
this is where I will probably go on Fridays when the tl gets unbearable over there lol
me watching the daughter in the opening scene act kind of weird and then suddenly they all were and then it got really creepy and I was like 😬 I love horror so it's still up my alley I just wasn't expecting that alskhglaksgh
I actually know nothing about this show other than it's like an It prequel
watching the first episode of welcome to derry and that opening scene was terrifying wtf
ohhh excellent, thank you for confirming! ♥
yeah one of the things I've hated on twitter is that it works great on the following and FYP but not on your lists :/ I use lists there almost exclusively to fight the algorithm lol
It gets into how I feel the show has been developing a slowburn romance for Buck and Eddie since s7, as well as how the show has now introduced Eddie as a permanent obstacle for Buck to address in his future relationships.

Sometimes I like to go overboard with analyzing the show, so if anyone is curious, I did a huge (no, seriously) post on BT as a plot device for buddie on tumblr that you can also check out on google docs: docs.google.com/document/d/1...

oooh okay so it might hide it from me then when I don't want to, hmm. much to think about!
