A proposed book cover for the Court We Need drawn by our 10-year-old daughter

Do we think @penguinbooksusa.bsky.social accepts proposed cover submissions from 10-year-olds?

Huge missed opportunity there.

But if it were about the score board, how many “prominent law professors” would say the opposite 🤔

Opinion | Trump Will Lose the Birthright Citizenship Case. But in a Way, He’s Already Won. The case is open-and-shut on the merits. But its procedural course still leaves plenty of room for Trump administration overreach.

In @nytopinion.nytimes.com

“When the Supreme Court rules against the Trump administration’s attempt to constrict birthright citizenship, we should applaud that result,” Stephen Vladeck says. “We must not lose sight, however, of the opportunities the court won’t have to rein in the administration.”

I’d say you could also write at this afternoon’s 8U softball game but you’ll be too busy coaching that one 😂

Calling the 90s the late 1900s…while technically correct makes us sound like we were forging the trail and getting typhoid fever

I need to know what 23-year-old marketing assistant approved this. Diabolical.

Bonus 215: How I Write the Newsletter I've received a number of questions from readers about the process involved in how I write—and decide what to write about in—the newsletter. This week's bonus issue attempts a peek behind the curtain.

The most common question I get about @stevevladeck.bsky.social is “when does he sleep?!” — a nod to just how much content he puts out (second most common: wait, how tall IS he!?)

Today’s One First explores how Steve writes the newsletter. Hint: it’s not AI!

I have jury duty today.

On the way to the courthouse, I swung by @stevevladeck.bsky.social’s office at Georgetown Law. Picking which prop from his office to bring to jury duty was really hard! I narrowed it down to these two.

Think I’ll get selected?!

You mean it’s weird when someone that chooses to follow you on a free website complains about your content? Seems totally normal to me.

Our displeased 10-year-old after the Supreme Court’s evening news drop interrupted our post-dinner family hearts game:

“UGHH couldn’t dad have just been, like, an architect or something?!?!?”
