I'm extremely grateful for the time I got to spend working with these folks, they're amazing at what they do and they really killed it on Wanderstop. If you're hiring, please check out the thread that I've quoted above for info on the talented people who are now available for work.
They make a very cool prototype and took it around to funding partners to try and get funding, but unfortunately there were no bites. So the tough decision was made to wind down the studio.
The team rallied and put together their own vision for a game called Engine Angel. I funded them for about a year to build a prototype, which you can get a peek at here.

Just to give you a bit of context here, toward the end of Wanderstop's development, I was dealing with extreme burnout that had claimed much of my mental and physical wellbeing. I made the decision to step down from studio leadership, and to allow others on the team to take over creative direction.

This is a bizarre question: what year did Cotton Eye Joe become super popular in the US? My memory tells me I'd never heard it until about 2002 when it suddenly became a staple of every school dance and birthday party, so I was pretty confused to just now learn that it actually came out in 1994.

We've patched Wanderstop with a few fixes, including motion sickness due to camera movement and weeds running rampant in the clearing when you're idle.
